The 256 gb SSD is a greater performance roadblock than the 8 gb of RAM. The 512 reads and writes data twice as fast! Don’t spec an M2 with a 256 gb SSD. This is true with the 13” M2 MacBook Pro too. There’s plenty of on TH-cam that discusses this limitation in detail.
I really liked the Midnight colour in videos, but didn't like it when I saw it for real in the Apple store. It looked much more blue than in the videos.

Just get a microfiber cleaning cloth. Went to an apple store to get a feel/look of the new m2 and there was a midnight on display- the staff/promoter took a quick wipe (literally < 5 secs) at it to get rid of fingerprints from prior customers, before he began explaining.

Another well thought out review, I would like to see if your m2 air heats up or runs into any issues when you try editing one of your videos for your channel on it. Considering the weight savings when traveling it would be nice to see how it stacks up with your editing workflow.
The weight argument has always confused me. Is someone REALLY going to notice that small of a difference while carrying a backpack walking down the road or up the stairs?

They send all the early reviewers a 512GB SSD version so that they don't reveal how crappy the intentionally crippled 256GB version really is compared to the older - and better equipped - entry-level M1 MBA. By far the most common config for MBAs that most people buy are the cheapest versions, which are 8/256. Now those buyers will be getting a trash SSD which doesn't work well at all with Unified Memory swap.

Try out some external cooling to see if you can reduce thermal throttling during heavy workloads!

I think its because due to the nand they chose for the 256 is really slow they didn't want influencers having that experience
