As much as I can appreciate the Black Keys and their recent fame (aka Dan Auerbach). It is quite ridiculous that Mr. Sweany is not yet a household name. His talent as a musician and as a creator of magnificent songs.... is profuse.
8 years later I totally agree. These ate seriously great blues rock tunes. It misses the pop factor of black keys tho. But that's just ok. Hes still steady on the road. Has a weekly blue Monday spot in Nashville. Household name doesnt really mean much anymore. Cardi B is a household name. While I agree he deserves the world, hes doing very well for a modern blues rocker
the 1:17 part is what hooks me every time, with that sweet tremolo sound and the thumb picking the bass while the other fingers play a sick melody, not easy to do by any means! love this guy!
This is the first song I’ve ever heard from him and I fell in love with the song! I’m really enjoying his music; I love the lyrics and sound! 1:20 is one of my favorite parts.
Simply incredible. What a talent. I agree with Puffle, People need to hear more of him. Maybe increased interest in Black Keys will help. In my case it led me here..
Cristian Hernandez funny you mention that, and several others did as well. I saw an interview with him where he was talking about how he owes his acclaim to Pandora because he got tied to The Black Keys and White Stripes channels, and that’s exactly how I found him too
My mind is filled with ghosts They're more than most of all my loves gone wrong My mind should be the way Most people say that I should just move on My mind is focused on Things past and gone when I have no control I can't forget there used to be I used to see but now no more Think I'm living in a past life... In a past life, too, it's a kind of thing that Catches up to you I guess I just believe that It's the thing to do So here's a little feedback You gotta wear those shoes No one said it would be easy Sometimes it is hard to do It isn't like the TV You see the cold hard truth And the things you see in movies Just don't come true So here's a little feedback You gotta wear your shoes I will live a half-life It'll have to do Now you can have a love life You have loved me, too You can see me in the evening When the weather's cool But here's a little feedback You gotta wear the shoes
@Jack O'Brien Dan Auerbach produced Patrick Sweany's second album entitled "Every Hour Is A Dollar Gone" (which this song is off of). Sweany has 3 albums out now, but this is the only album produced by Auerbach.
What equipment/setup is he using? Anyone know? I’m trying to emulate his sound. Got a tele, in the neck pickup position (stock pickups?) with a vox ac 15 (w/tremolo, gain, reverb). I think he rolls off some of the top end so its got that clean, soft, but raunchy sound. Does he use any pedals? I don’t know. I’m using an exciter of sorts to try and get some of that top end sparkle but i can never get the distortion on the amp quite right. Top boost channel i think. But mine always sounds either too muddy or too weak. His is just so satisfying when he hits that one chord at the end of the phrase EDIT: maybe he uses a fuzz pedal? Plz help
heard this on Pandora. this tune rips... figures i always catch on late.. love the sound.. and energy.. the live version is kinda awesome soundwise.. ive seen plenty of vids of greater known musicians ..that disappointed me in live sound... who cant keep the seemily clear sound of a studio recorded piece.. i guess the key is dont record with a dumb audience present... lok
After 8 years this is still the best original pure blues rock out there. Patrick Sweany is the definition of underrated.
💯 this song has rocked my world for years.

Its himself. He cant manage himself.
Couldn't agree more
I didn't think anyone made music like this anymore! THANK YOU PANDORA!
The sound is close-ish to a band I heard a while ago in DC, Delta Highway Blues th-cam.com/video/6SQhqytWK0Y/w-d-xo.html
I didn't think a dumbass wearing crocs with a stupid hair cut would be so stupid to comment
I hope it went to the idiot
That's how I found him! He and Gary Clark, Jr.. 🤯

Simply incredible. What a talent. I agree with Puffle, People need to hear more of him. Maybe increased interest in Black Keys will help. In my case it led me here..

Pandora & Gary Clark Jr. Introduced me to this song. 🎧😍🎶💖️🔥💯
Aside from being a killer tune, the drummer has one of the sweetest beards I've seen in a long time.
Man, I came cause I love the song, but the singer is hot, too!
This should be winning Grammys!
My mind is filled with ghosts
They're more than most of all my loves gone wrong
My mind should be the way
Most people say that I should just move on My mind is focused on
Things past and gone when I have no control I can't forget there used to be
I used to see but now no more Think I'm living in a past life... In a past life, too,
it's a kind of thing that
Catches up to you
I guess I just believe that
It's the thing to do
So here's a little feedback
You gotta wear those shoes No one said it would be easy
Sometimes it is hard to do
It isn't like the TV
You see the cold hard truth
And the things you see in movies
Just don't come true
So here's a little feedback
You gotta wear your shoes I will live a half-life
It'll have to do
Now you can have a love life
You have loved me, too
You can see me in the evening
When the weather's cool
But here's a little feedback
You gotta wear the shoes
Holt shit this man is baddest soul & grit love it
This guy is too fucking sick
Great reminds me of Paul Kossoff of "Free" and even some "Spirit" thrown in there - great sound
great sound
Just fucking Epic - Patrick Sweany ! layin it down!

@Jack O'Brien
