      Nostalgic middle-aged males most definitely fill most of their 34m monthly listeners on Spotify, but they still made amazing music. I'm 14 and love them. Introduced them to my friends and now they're all fanboys too. The reason I think most LP fans are in their 30s is because we live in a time where mainstream hip-hop and pop dominates the market, LP just barely fails to fit into those 2 categories which means driving in new fans is tough, especially after the loss of Chester and the band splitting. Although I don't know much about the industry so I'm just ranting about my very subjective observations and opinions.

    People always talk about Maiden and history. A lot of their songs are historically based, but the music behind many of them are absolutely killer. Rime of the Ancient Mariner is simply amazing. They also have many great songs that aren't really historical as much as they are mythological. Such as Seventh Son. Still I'll freely admit the mixing in the albums from 1994 onwards has been questionable, and some songs man....

      @@talaniel Maybe their biggest achievement is not making it sound as if that is the case. Becasue unlike bands like ACDC or Motorhead they don't sound like a releasing the same album over and over type of band. They have great diversity between albums, and within the same album. I guess they are so good at song-writting that they make a lot with little.

    • @nicolaemadalinboboc6704
      @nicolaemadalinboboc6704 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean, I think they have a great talent for writting melody and making their music sound epic, but they do have an issue with lyrics writting. The thing is that they have songs like Hallowed be thy Name that show that they can create a story and have a narrator inside that story, yet a lot of their lyrics just sound like stating stuff, like someone giving you a summary of a documentary, movie or book without any sort of emotional investment. Alexander the Great is probably the best example. On a mean note, I think they always had an issue with production - the guitars always sound thin for the sake of makin the basslines audible. They are the one great metal band that never figure out how metal should actually sound like (except on their debut), but they made it with up with greatmelodies, a feel for the epic, solid songwritting and diverse subject matter.

It's Tike Velvet Underground are a band considered the definition of cool by the kind of people no one thinks they're cool. Tool are the band considered uncool by the same people. I like both bands btw. Meanwhile, if you look at music reaction videos, even if most are fake, among the metal bands, Metallica, Black Sabbath and Tool are the ones that seem to have the most appeal to people outside of metal. All of these have solid truth to them! Saw spritibox earlier this year, one of the best shows of the year for me. Seeing Dragonforce this Friday, can't wait bathe myself in the campyness

    The comment on Metallica was actually spot on, while the comment on Death was not. Their song structures are amazing.

    Dragonforce went from trying to be a serious power metal now turn to a band makes a lot of video game references in the songs and making the wackiest music videos.

    Megadeth was cool when Marty Friedman was in the band.
