Nostalgic middle-aged males most definitely fill most of their 34m monthly listeners on Spotify, but they still made amazing music. I'm 14 and love them. it's nice that this is all harmless good-fun satire instead of hilarious honesty cloaked in laughing, ...with them, not at them. The tribute for geezer band Iron Maiden was especially touching my funny bone.
As someone who's favorite band is Tool and who never takes any substances, not even alcohol...Tool IS the substance. Their music itself is what makes you high.
The reaction some people have to Tool is pretty weird. They are like the opossite The Velvet Underground. It's Tike Velvet Underground are a band considered the definition of cool by the kind of people no one thinks they're cool. Tool are the band considered uncool by the same people. I like both bands btw. Meanwhile, if you look at music reaction videos, even if most are fake, among the metal bands, Metallica, Black Sabbath and Tool are the ones that seem to have the most appeal to people outside of metal. It seems that people who didn't read on some forum that Tool are supposed to be uncool and pretentions, actually enjoy them for the music alone.
@@kornelparoczai1763 It's just some observations I found. I recently saw someone commenting how Tool sucks because you shouldn't understand the Fibonacci sequence just to like a song, meanwhile someone else in a video said the thing about Lateralus is he doens't need to understand the Fibonacci sequence, beucase they just make it sound cool. There seems to exist this stigma about Tool and their music, but it's mostly shared by people who are in the indie crowd or are trve metalheads.
Damn you really did my band dirty! Bro is trying to make Phantom of the Opera, Wrathchild, Dance of Death, Powerslave, and the rest of their masterpieces sound like nursery rhymes. Seriously though, this video really got me laughing, I love how over the top and targeting the disses were. It’s genuinely impressive though how they can play like that, especially when Jannick is jumping around, dancing, and playing at the same time!😂
I'm not entirely convinced that was the worst thing you could say about Manowar. They're the band that got me into metal decades ago. But they ended as the biggest self-parody in history.
Amen. Early Manowar might be considered "cheesy", but nobody ever did what they did better. Then it became Joey's ego trip and they've been on an artistic downward slope ever since.
About singing. Some bands have great songs but the singing or growl just completely ruins it. TIP: have a song sung clean with good vocals, then same song done with screams and growls, and see which one people actually bang their heads and sing to it. Then go and record it.
As someone who really, really disliked Anthrax when first getting into metal but now finds them to be criminally underrated, that got the loudest laugh out of me. Still think Anthrax might have the best riffs of all the Big 4
Several women came forward describing how they were pulled from the audience at a Rammstein concert, drugged, and raped by Lindemann. But yeah, the lyrics are creepy, too.
I actually think Mustaines vocals on COE, Youth, CW and Risk are decent. Songs were slower and more melodic back in the 90’s so that might be the reason for it.
I found your description of TOOL to be quite insufferable! Not wanting to listen to TOOL is the number one sign of unenlightenment. Unfortunately some people lack the intelligence to receive the mind altering enlightenment that TOOL offers, and need to turn to substances which make them feel as though they are being enlightened. I should also mention that people who spent less than $5000 in their audio setup, simply not worthy of TOOL's enlightenment. I am an avid TOOL enjoyer, and for your sake, I hope some of my enlightenment rubs off on you by reading this comment.
OK, I love Iron Maiden, but that one legitimately made me chuckle. Also, you could have used the Children of Bodom one for Dream Theater and it still would have worked.

Yep, I agree with all of those. I was a fan basically from start to finish - I remember in 1997 hearing their song Red Light In My Eyes Pt. 2 on the "B-side" of Nightwish's The Carpenter single, and instantly liking them. And I was at their last ever gig in 2019. So I was there all the way.
But to be honest, Alexi's lyrics were pretty shit most of the time. :D
@Jayzon666 I never thought Alexi's lyrics were shit. Alot of songs have awesome lyrics.
Lake Bodom
Are you dead yet
Blooddrunk
Bed of Razors
In your face
Done with everything die for nothing
One day you will cry
Banned from heaven
Angels don't kill
I've never thought any of their songs had bad lyrics.
I even think all the songs have awesome lyrics from any album you can think of.
COB for life. \m/
Maiden uses the country music mantra. Three chords, and the truth. It's why I love them. Hilarious video!!😂
OMG Iron Maiden is really just a country band... mind blown
Dr. Seuss arguing with Alex Jones sent me
As the biggest Ghost fan, I agree with all of this. In fact, it's probably why I love them.
😒
Cannibal Corpse: The only two interesting things about them is
a) Jim Carrey taking the absolute piss out of them and
b) the front singer/growler leaves
Six Feet Under: ...and forms an even more uninteresting band than the one he left
Five Finger Death Punch - because being badass is sooooo tough...
Bro. That Death take? Nah.
Chuck was a master songwriter, I’d even say he was a composer. I agree with pretty much everything else, but you can’t disrespect Chuck like that. He brought us a metal classic with EVERY release, and he only got better and better.
You did a great job of calling out every band and the crap they do over and over again. I can’t be upset for the truth. Great video
These are always so on point. But I know you actually love all these bands and your not doggin them, you just hate yourself a little bit because you love them lol
UK band using wikipedia for song writing? What a nonsense! It obviously was Britannica.
Went to a TOOL concert a few days ago and I can confirm that nearly everyone there was on some sort of substance. Including me
A bit dusted but overall fine: Megadeth, Metallica, Ghost, Gojira, SOD,
Definetly done dirty: Tool, Korn, Rammstein, Trivium, Opeth, Periphery, DT
Disrespected (rightly so): Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, Deftones, Death, Messugah
Career ending: Anthrax, Opeth, LOG, AX7
Man the manowar one killed me haha
Rammstein lyrics gotta be one of these:
-Damn I'm depressed
-SEEEEEEX
-*leftist propaganda*
-SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEX
=I found this one cool thing/word and decided to make a whole song out of it
And I fucking love them
Brilliant. Opeth, Metallica, Gojira, Meshuggah, Spiritbox....all perfectly accurate.
I hate you… but at the same time you are right…
You have to be in a very specific mood to listen to Wintersun.
Fortunately or unfortunately I’m always in that mood 😅
Dude, I just became a fan recently and I’m frustrated with Jari already. Can’t imagine how long time fans must feel.
@@michaelvdbgd at least the music is good enough to keep listening to over and over… I’ll never get bored of self-titled
Yeah, but it’s not like with bands like Turisas for example, which hasn’t released a new album in 10 years and are completely inactive. It’s sad because their first 3 albums are awesome but that’s all.
Jari has been teasing us for years (this year with a 2 minute track and a promise for more music) but we are getting nothing. They are officially an active band.
@@michaelvdbgd yeah, I really hate that, but it does teach us to not take for granted what we have and appreciate the brilliant albums these bands give us. And yes Turisas is amazing 🤘
Big respect for your ability to consistently relisten to all of Wintersun's 20 second long discography repeatedly lol. I hope Jari can deliver mail more reliably than he can deliver music.
it's nice that this is all harmless good-fun satire instead of hilarious honesty cloaked in laughing, ...with them, not at them.
@@nicolaemadalinboboc6704 I haven't seen a comment more insightful and correct in my life
@@kornelparoczai1763 It's just some observations I found.
I back this up so much. Love their early records... Manowar died when Ross left.
About singing. Some bands have great songs but the singing or growl just completely ruins it.
TIP: have a song sung clean with good vocals, then same song done with screams and growls, and see which one people actually bang their heads and sing to it. Then go and record it.
I absolutely hate clean singing in metal... I would love to have many those songs as instrumental versions tho
As someone who really, really disliked Anthrax when first getting into metal but now finds them to be criminally underrated, that got the loudest laugh out of me.
Still think Anthrax might have the best riffs of all the Big 4
I wouldn't disagree with that...the best thing about his take is that's exactly what I think they were trying to do....
The 3 first anthrax albums were pretty sick. But man, got the time is just… ugh
Anthrax are so underrated!! They have a awesome collection, and still writing bangers!
Slayer riffs:
Hard disagree, however I would say they probably have the most energy and the most entertaining live out of the Big 4
Several women came forward describing how they were pulled from the audience at a Rammstein concert, drugged, and raped by Lindemann. But yeah, the lyrics are creepy, too.
As an Iron Maiden fan, I died from laughter
@MrLBPug 🤣bro
I hate quoting the video for a comment but the Alex Jones Dr Seuss one was fire
I’d say the Linkin Park description could go for a big, no, HUGE amount of emo bands from LP’s era
I love Megadeth but that is completely true!
Give him another 15 years. He'll probably open a third eye and spiral out.
I'll take the 5k without Tool.
0:18 I take this as a compliment
OK, I love Iron Maiden, but that one legitimately made me chuckle.
Also, you could have used the Children of Bodom one for Dream Theater and it still would have worked.
The existence of The Count Of Tuscany and Metropolis Part 2 are examples of why it wouldn’t work as well for DT as for COB. Maybe a little bit corny, but not cringe.
As for Maiden, he should’ve said “making a career out of the E minor scale” 😂
The Manowar one though… brutal
@@CoffeeMatt10
The Count of Monte Cristo is one of the examples I was thinking of that is bad as well as The Astonishing. Maybe not cringe in the way that word has come to be overly used, but I mean so corny that it’s cringy.
3:09 Another win for Anthrax I see.
Opeth is like that mate from school you dont really remember but think they may have been cool at one point
hahahahaha
We gotta give Metallica some credit, it only took them 32 years to write a proper follow-up to the Black Album XD
I laughed pretty hard at your burn on Dragonforce. I'm not really a fan of them, primarily because, despite listening to a lot of power symphonic metal, their music tends to be the one that gives me migraines.
As a Ghost fan, that description is one way to describe them. And I could see it 😂
The dragonforce one hits home. I went through like 4 of their albums and only found like 5 good songs.
😂🤦♂️
Trail of Broken Hearts is one of my favorites from Inhuman Rampage.
There are not many TH-camrs, or metal heads in general who are able to place portionated burns and disses that effectively and that hard to counter and at the same time don't sound derogatory or ignorant. It's been a long time since I felt that amount of respect for a fellow music fan. Please keep your content that way for the love of god. Please don't join the TH-cam mediocrating machine after hitting 1 million.
Bradley is smart disguising incisive and accurate criticism as 'satire' 😎
ngl, I totally thought Sabaton were coming right after Iron Maiden with the same caption :D
To be fair on Slipknot, I think Shawn and Corey are trying to remove half the band...
Starts to sound even more accurate after the news they fired their drummer. :D
All these reasons is exactly why I don't consider myself a metalhead anymore lol.
There are just a few hidden gems but all the classics suck
Poor Labrie never escapes Bradley lol
In the immortal words of PapaHet... "Sad But True". lol
the death one is so true but their riffs and singing and drumming makes it all up
Nah the death one is so wrong
@@afb799 spirit crusher is one of the worst structured songs to exist
what does that even mean@@VRey-f5j
@user-jm8uq5xb6n Don't think so.
PART 2 PLEASE. I want to hear someone diss my favorite genre which is death/deathcore/slam
I wasn’t aware of Wintersun’s crowdfunding campaign until well after it happened, so I’m not at all salty about that. My biggest disappointment is that they’re slowly becoming Nightwish, and yet ironically I don’t like Nightwish that much anymore.
I’m still patiently waiting for Jari to produce more music, though, and I’ll happily keep re-listening to the 3 albums in the meantime.
Jari needs to wait until they invent quantum computers to be able to finish the production on Time 2.
...that and he needs to buy 5 more saunas.
loved the first album and i too read about all of the crowdfunding bs after the fact and i vaguely remember laughable details about how he doesn't have the right plugins for his grandiose vision.
saw them live 1 time (at wacken) and you really couldn't discern any of the intricacies, it was just kickdrum and vocals. maybe also a plugin issue 😂
@@KanglarI agree 😢
I guess Time 2 will never come out 😭😭😭
I thought Nightwish was slowly turning into Wintersun, because they already took 2 of its bandmembers the last few years hehe.
The Iron Maiden comment could have been easily copypasted for Sabaton.
Yeah. Iron Maiden don't even write about history that much, whereas Sabaton only writes about history.
the way chuck writes/ structures his songs are beautiful
he did an amazing job, he's a pioneer for the genre for a reason.
beautiful and perfect 😉
Too bad he forgot how to write songs on TSOP
@@andrearenaudo9045 TSOP is an incredible album what? Voice of the Soul? Painkiller?? Spirit Crusher?
@@Velakor9150 Painkiller wasn't written by Death and the original version is superior, Spirit Crusher starts strong and has a good chorus, but after a while it drags. Voice of the soul is beautiful though, I'll concede that
the Lamb of God description reminds me of something that was said about a Bolt Thrower album...
I’m gonna hand in an iron maiden song for my history assignment, wikapidia….the band
Congrats on your forth-coming 'A'
just the thumbnail dissed my music taste, nice work!
this is the "he's out of line, but he's right" meme, basically.
The bands that are favorites shall forever acknowledge the fortitude of their predecessors. ❤🎉
You said this was satire but everything in this video is just straight up true
The Black Dahlia Murder are GOAT. RIP Trevor
Can't wait to show this to my friend who loves Anthrax😂
That comment is where he broke my heart.😅
@@subicstationditosailor4053 you don't get it😂 he is a total fanboy😂
That explosion at the end is amazing.
All of these have solid truth to them! Saw spritibox earlier this year, one of the best shows of the year for me. Seeing Dragonforce this Friday, can't wait bathe myself in the campyness
The comment on Metallica was actually spot on, while the comment on Death was not. Their song structures are amazing.
This was meant as a joke but the Manowar one was a complete murder, holy shit.
As someone who habitually tried to sneak in odd time signatures and changes in his riffs, the Meshuggah roast hit very weird for me... Nice one with Deftones btw. Lol
What if sabbath is my fav?
Then there's nothing bad to say, you are the peak of human evolution
Dragonforce went from trying to be a serious power metal now turn to a band makes a lot of video game references in the songs and making the wackiest music videos.
these are all true and ppl can’t even be mad. now do a part 2 😂
Megadeth was cool when Marty Friedman was in the band.
