I'm surprised you didn't wear your shipper hat for this episode. This is the episode that they pushed the Destiel to the forefront. Every moment between Dean and Cas in this episode felt like the dynamic of a true couple.
So I know Dean gets a lot of flak for being mad at Cas, but I cut him some slack since he works through his issues this episode and I know what really behind his feelings. Dean wasn't really mad at Cas but at himself, he doesn't like that Cas life might be in danger because of him (and Sam, but mostly him) and he thinks that Cas would be better off without him and Sam which is why he seems so hostile, he's subconsciously pushing him away. But it should be noted that even when he was "mad" at Cas he still came to his aid after being verbally assaulted and physically assaulted by that angel dick, so he will always care for Cas
This is so weird. Dean being mad and then having to meet Cas’ garrison buddies. More Castiel background is great. This is pertinent information though. Rule of thumb, angels want to take Dean out. Them in the booth being his protectors is just adorable.
Even though this episode is good there are some inconsistencies like how didn't castiel and the other angels not realize that the girl wasn't a nephilim because the moment Lucifer got kelly pregnant castiel sensed it along with the other angels Plus during season 4 I think castiel said that the angels hadn't been out of heaven in century's
Perhaps back then only higher rank angels used Angel radio? There were way more angels back then so it might have been confusing if all angels used it... Plus, it adds to the hierarchy thing. Or they didn't leave heaven under normal circumstances, but since this was a huge, world- threatening thing they went? Nephilim weren't really relevant in season 4, so there was no need for Cas to mention this exception.. Great points though :)
@@angelaholmes8888 I mean it is 15 seasons (or at this point 12) with tons of lore and characters, so I think it's only human if some things get overlooked ;) Leaves a lot of room for head canons and stuff :)
So this is one of those Aftermath episodes where rather than have a two parter the show has an aftermath episode to deal with a decision one or both of the brothers made in the previous episode. That would make sense and be good for storytelling except most of the time the writers make these decisions to stir drama and not bother to think if it's in character. Now yes the brothers have been known to make dangerous deals to save the other, but the situation last episode was nowhere near as dire for that kind of deal, the writers make it out like their lemmings going off a cliff any chance they get. Also Cas is far more capable to have been able to save them on his own and much sooner. Also another side effect off these out of character decisions is they make the brothers look bad (usually Dean). Thankfully this was a good episode with a good story and things developed and progressed nicely rather than dragged out and mean spirited like some are.
The marital fight between Cas and Dean. That was a married couple fight if I've ever heard one. As for the deal, I think both Dean and Sam knew that they were going to die either way, and they wanted to do it on their terms and free. That's how I saw it anyway. I loved all the background on Cas and seeing his former garrison. It filled in some holes. There was such a huge parallel here between Ishim killing Lily's daughter to hurt her the most and then trying to kill Dean to do the same to Castiel. Cas once respected and revered Ishim but now Dean has taken that space.

@@RB-km4om you have a point plus at this point the writer's really forgot many things from the earlier seasons
