Cas: shows love for his family by sacrificing his life at every opportunity he's got Cas, when Jack picks up the same behavior and sacrifices himself for his loved ones: .O. Jack is a mirror character for Cas to see his flaws (terribly low self-worth) and try to challenge them for his son. I love this so much. Overall, what an episode! There's so much interesting details, so much depth to the characters, especially, Dean and Michael. Michael trapping Dean not even in happiest place he can imagine but just in the place where he's content with his life (the bare minimum) is just insane. Dean never can get all what he wants, but he at least can get this - endlessly waiting for his family to come to the place he can call his own. It's not happy, because Sam and Cas aren't here, but he's sure that they're safe and that they'll come any minute now. And I can't even begin to unwrap all the stuff with Pamela, how Dean can flirt with her because he knows that it will lead nowhere, it's just fun game that he likes to have because he can't have the one who he really wants (yes, I'm talking about Cas, shipper hat is still on). And regarding Michael, I think title mostly refers to him (and to Dean a little, seeing how he's trapped in the world where nothing matters). The whole point of Michael is that he's loyal son, for him to serve his father was the only meaning of his life. And this Michael can't do that anymore. He's abandoned, left to rot in the dying world, made to loose his faith in his father. So there's nothing left in him, what's the point of his existence now, what's the point of all of this. And if nothing matters, he can just burn everything with him, maybe, hoping a little that Chuck will notice his temper tantrum. Amazing episode, amazing reaction and discussion. Looking forward for your reactions to the second half of the season. It promises to be a wild ride.
The only way to keep Jack from using his powers is for him to stop hunting. There is just no way he won't use them when his family is in danger and of course the more he does it the more his soul burns up. This is the downside to bringing him back.
That’s one of my favourite episodes, I think Amanda Tapping (from Stargate & SPN) directed that episode if I remember correctly. Quite a few Easter eggs especially in the bar scenes. Loved seeing Pamela again.
Here are my top 5 perfect normal jobs for Dean aside from Bar tender/Bar owner like in this episode. 1) Mechanic 2) Teacher/Coach 3) Firefighter/Paramedic 4) Cop/Detective 5) Dad

Jensen so amazing in this episode! 🔥
"Because he doesn't care!"
I don’t know why, but I love the episodes inside their heads. And this setup got my full attention. Loved it, too.
Jensen as Michael is amazing.
