Thank you for sharing Volodos playing this seldomly played Sonata! Did you by any chance also record Schumann‘s Davidsbündlertänze? Kind regards from Germany
@@dennispiano8094 He’s rewritten it to be much less « showy ». In the friska he follows Liszt’s original a lot closer. Also the interpretation is very different, a lot more « improvisatory » (if you like it) or « mannered » (if you don’t).
It's always nice to hear Volodos, but this isn't the right way to hear it. This recording was probably not authorised by Volodos, and shouldn't be uploaded. Or did you have his permission to record him with your phone?
Unfortunately, this is not Volodos´best performance (like in his Gasteiner Sonata). For reference listen to F. Gulda (possibly in his Wiener Festwochen recital).

Thanks for sharing! Do you have Liszt’s Rhapsody 13 too?
Seconding this! Would love to hear the Hungarian Rhapsody if you have it!
I've heard it. It's very different to how he used to play it.

If it’s not the right way then I don’t want to be right

Why?
The Schubert Gasteiner sonata was the single greatest live piano performance I have ever heard
