As good as it gets. This is a tough one to play for many reasons. After hearing Heifetz play this, or anything, I don't want to hear anybody else. His playing was never cold. It was always red hot. Bravo!!!
Ever changing shades and nuances.
Marvelous story telling.
Oh! his articulated bowing is so special and graceful at the zenith. Yeah. forever. for some reason or other, nobody dose not move the bow as like as him. (91yrs.Japanese) that's so easy to appreciate music.

The person who went to the trouble of posting this did not, incredibly, tell us who the pianist was (I believe it was William Kapell; the playing of this thorny piano part is fabulous). This happens so often on youtube -- we are not told who the performers were, which is essential information. Would you not be surprised if you went to an art museum and found beautiful paintings with no information about who the artist was?

best comment yet!!!!!(and I mean in all classical responses)
A minor correction: the pianist name is William Kapell, not Kappel. He died at 31 years of age on October 29, 1953 in a plane crash returning from Australia. A terrible loss for music.

Best!
Very unfortunate It's Kapell Thought it was lucky to know he recorded Brahms 3 with Heifetz 😀🍘🇯🇵
