    It's heartening to see a fellow artist going through the winter. I don't feel so panicked and alone ( imposter syndrome). It's been a year for me. 😢

      Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that...a year is a long time. Imposter syndrome is awful, I have experienced that before too (in fact, it's often rearing it's ugly head!). I hope you find your way to a creative Spring soon, just keep making notes and listening to what makes you excited, I'm sure it will come back to you ❤️

    The notification of this video was most welcome. And I think they are lovely spreads. I am rather partial to fish, so I was particularly happy to see them. And - as ever - your birds are enchanting. It was interesting to see you pouring colours onto the page. It looked like freedom. No pencil lines, just cracking on with creating. Happy 2024.

      Glad you liked it! I am also partial to fish, fascinating to watch and beautiful to boot...I don't draw enough of them but thoroughly enjoy it when I do. And yes, working this way feels very freeing, it's very enjoyable indeed! Happy 2024 to you too :) ❤️

    Oh so happy you made this video. I too feel the winter creative rute. You made so many great points about hibernation and comparisons to nature. I feel like I'm not alone.

      So glad you enjoyed it Autumn, and that it makes you feel less alone...we all need our quieter moments of rest it seems ☺️

    A lovely video, Lee. It's very interesting to hear your thoughts about this. I've always felt that some 'downtime' is essential, and I'm constantly amazed by the artists who have something new to post on Instagram every day (or even several times a day!). I always feel so slow compared to them, but I know that that kind of 'production' would be completely unsustainable for me. It ebbs and flows, like nature and the seasons - you described it so beautifully.

      Thanks Natasha, glad you enjoyed it! I am also surprised that some people just seem to be able to post new things all the time, how are they doing it?! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who needs this sort of downtime, although sometimes things grind to a halt unexpectedly...we just have to listen to ourselves, trust and embrace it for what it is I guess ❤️

    This was a beautiful video, Lee 💙 I’m in the middle of taking uni exams at the moment, so although it’s not a creative block/burnout, what you’re saying really resonates and a lot of your words are ones I needed to hear! I’m very happy to hear that you’re back to making your gorgeous artwork again 💙 Happy New Year! Xx

    As always, so inspired by you! Being a collage artist on YT, I was so amazed by your use of magazine within the pieces. It made me want to try mixing the two! I love the texture you created on the underwater scene. Id love to try and figure out how to do that one day.
    Thanks as always for your relaxing, inspiring, videos!

      Thanks so much, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it! The images are my own photographs, just printed off on my inkjet printer, I should get some better quality ones printed really but then they would be too precious, I like how throwaway I can be when things don't cost too much! ❤️

    Lovely to see you back here Lee, your sketchbook painting is so gorgeous, I could look at it for hours.💖 In the canvas paintings I used to make, (I haven’t made any for a while🫣) I would mix collage with paint and watching you doing this reminds me how creative it feels, I must do it again one day. The painting behind you with the horse is stunning too. That pink is the pink of dreams! Can I ask what paint it is? I’m on a forever quest for the perfect pink! xx

      @BonbiForest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Jess! Collaging and throwing everything at the work is really freeing and definitely feels creative, I love all the unexpected outcomes too, something i want to bring more of to my work this year...it's far too easy to tighten up. The painting is one I made last year, thought it would bring some colour to the backdrop 😁 Ha ha, the quest for the perfect pink is never ending, I have so many pinks and am always mixing more! The pink is Liquitex acrylic marker in flourescent pink, it's such a good one 🌸🎀💕

    Hi Lee!! I was so excited to see that you posted another video. I feel bad that I was asking you on Instagram if you are going to come back to TH-cam. In retrospect that was insensitive because clearly you were going through a lull. What’s more, I totally relate since I have had a terrible lull for the past month. Anyway, I absolutely loved watching you work in your sketchbook, especially the combo of collage, paint and the neo-colours! So inspiring ❤❤❤

      Aww, please don't feel bad...I have had a video in mind in various states of being made on my computer for a while now, just pleased I finally got one finished! Sorry to hear you have been in a lull too, it's not a nice feeling at all, I hope your mojo and creative energy returns soon..I'm still nurturing mine, trying not to scare it back into hibernation! ❤️

      Thank you, Em, glad you enjoyed it and like the sketchbook work! My favourites are Seawhite of Brighton sketchbooks...they are good quality cartridge paper so can take a lot of things being thrown at them! ❤️
