This is definitely the best sounding LMDh car so far. Can’t wait to see 2023 in action
It's not a hypercar.
It doesn't need the name "hypercar"
LMP3 cars like ADESS-03 LMP3 and Ginetta g61-lt-p3 LMP3 are a lot closer to hypercars made for racing than this modern LMH class
I actually think the new Porsche 963 sounds way better

Thank you Cadillac for not using either a turbo V6 or turbo flat-plane V8 like everyone else. This is the most unique sounding car of the batch, pure NA madness.

It's very "american" and I respect american manufactures for keeping their identity alive like this, I'm from Le Mans and I remember when I was a kid I loved the Panoz so much because of their unique sound, I could recognize their sound from my parents garden wich was 5 km away...
@@YOUENNNN So true. I've had the good fortune to have seen all Panoz entries at Le Mans and I miiss them to this day. Luckely there was one at Spa Classic, last month.

This new generation looks sooo mean from the front. And this caddy sounds incredible. Cannot wait for the next few years of endurance racing - I think we’re in for a treat

Eh i think the valkarie sounds a bit better with that ear shattering v12, but the cadillac does sound good. The new brabham bt63 gt2 car also sounds amazing.

Second he didnt say "the best sounding IMSA car" he said the best sounding new generation car, and the bt63 and aston lmdh are new generation race cars. Duno what the hell you people are so butthurt about, I gave my opinion on some cars I like.
@@johnsullivan937 you lost me when you said, Aston Martín, WEC and LMDh in the same sentence dude.. in all cases, the droped Aston Le mans Valkirye was an LMH, not an LMDh.
LMDh is the denomination for prototypes based on Chassi from Oreca (Acura and Alpine), Multimatic (Porsche), Dallara (Cadillac and BMW) and Ligier (Lamborghini). Like i said the project of AM is pretty much dead, also this is an IMSA/WEC car, LMDh and you compared it with two non racing cars... please do some research before accusing others of being butthurt when actualy, clearly you are the one who reacted like that...also the Pagani Huayra R is the best in the sound department...

Shoutout to the new regulations for producing such varied cars and making participation possible without ridiculous costs.
I was kinda underwhelmed when they revealed the cars a couple of days ago, but gah dawg this might be my favorite of the bunch now after seeing and hearing this thing. 10/10 job by cadillac

the BOP literaly just mandates a maximum downforce, minimum drag and Maximum power.
As long as the teams are within those paramaters, aerodynamically they can do what they like in LMH and LMDH
@@dylanburston7453 in theory yes I agree it should work. In reality the result we get is Alpine from this year's Le Mans. Tragically nerfed.
@@AceBlake Thats because they didnt do a good job of playing the system. The BOP is about as lenient as you can get. I dont know weather they run exhaust gasses in the WindTunnel, because Ferrari are going to get extra downforce from the exauhst.
As long as you are within the downforce/drag coeffecient limit, they cant do anything. There are literally no aerodynamic or bodywork restrictions.
you can do whatever you like as long as it comes in under x amount of downforce, and over 1.0 in drag.
You dont need to win, but please finish the race, so we have 24h fun with this amazing sound

Technically a GTP and a Hypercar actually, since they're running both IMSA and WEC, but realistically the best label is LMDH as that's the kind of car that it is. Imagine someone who's never been into endurance racing trying to understand all this lol

That sounds insane. I've not heard a proper V8 in a prototype since the Lister with Chevy V8 in it since about 2003
Wonder if it’s the corvette’s v8
ALMS(IMSA) also had The Oreca FLM 09 cars in 2009-2011 and then 2017 at the birth of the IMSA era. They used an LS3 V8. I was glad when they were discontinued in IMSA after 2017 i think🤔 Their performance level they sat in between GTLM and LMP2. TThe FLM09's always looked like they were frustrating the GTLM drivers on the track with their low power but superior p/w ratio and agility commonly afforded to le mans prototypes.
@@koraxi8958 Yeh the FLM cars sounded like they just had a crate engine in them, this caddy sounds more like the later Corvettes.

@@Jerraldough it’s a 5.5L DOHC V8. Most likely what happened here is they took the Z06 engine and replaced the flatplane crank with a traditional crossplane.

I was a bit sad when I learned that the DPi category and the Cadillac DPi-VR was done after this season but the future is looking bright for the new class and cars. Definitely pumped for the '23 season!

Well, as per the norm, when an American team goes to Le Mans, they tend to bring a bunch of good old V-8 horsepower with them. Works every time.
That will certainly get the suspension sorted out. Man what a ride. Love those quick downshifts
Now I've seen and heard the all beating all screaming caddy out on track, I am won over. 'It's going to be an exciting prospect that I am sure watching all these wonderful and exotic machines going toe to toe with one another on some of the world's best circuits.
