When Ubisoft make excellent video games. This is one of my favorite games, I played the game on Spanish but the level design, music, characters is 10/10
I actually enjoy how creative each platform is. I orginally played the N64 version which I enjoyed very much. But i also enjoy the other systems or pc version of games because of how much we all enjoyed the game 🖤

It looks pretty good as expected on PS1, pushing the hardware. If you come from N64 or Dreamcast and want to say "it's downgraded", please save your comments, we know it, genius people! It's a PS1!! But if you want to talk about best looking version, that is PS2.
Even while comparing to the N64 port i would say is debatable which one is the better looking, since the N64 may have bigger maps but is very blurry overall, while the grainy look of PS1 gives it a bit more detail and it has better colours imo.
There are some moments that the voice acting in this version tops the voice acting in revolution, but I like that Revolution combined sound elements from the original Raymanian with the new voice acting
No matter what version of this game you watch, Rayman 2 is an excellent game. Easily one of the best 3-D platformers ever, and I'd like to see Ubisoft do another Rayman 3-D platformer after they've finished their NFT obsession. On a side note, I wonder how old Rayman's supposed to be? He sounds no older than about 18 to me.
I bought this game on my ps3 years ago but I remember I can’t even get past like the 2nd stage. Where you have to race a whale underwater and I think beat him and manage not to drown and I could never even get close to beating it. And I love Rayman it sucks when games are like that, good games but too hard to enjoy the later levels. Or I’m doing something wrong

Yes, in other versions you have to use a ship to find entrances of 4 mines across the map and then you get the 4th mask. In this version you have to find 3 switches in the map after the air ballon
Even if this version was drastically downgraded, the game has some of the best graphics ever created on the PS1 (a Saturn version would be better looking because of the better but complex hardware). The PC/DC versions are still the best of the bunch.
I'm not bashing you if you play the PlayStation version of this, but it looks so much better on the Dreamcast, and I'm not just saying that because I really like Dreamcast, have a good memories with PlayStation also.

I still remember my childhood times playing this game over and over again, those where the times 😊. Still the best soundtracks of all rayman games. But then again some of the rayman 1 and rayman 3 soundtracks are good aswell but a little bit less

I don't think that was possible. The Playstation's very low RAM limited the size of loadable zones. Including voice acting doesn't tax the RAM very much but was a good feature to add a reason to play the playstation version. The fact that the Playstation uses discs as opposed to for example the N64's cartridges allowed it to save way bigger sound files.

So many changes from Nintendo 64 and PS1, But there is one scene that sicks out to remember.. The Nintendo 64 after running away and claiming your gold reward, you have a choice YES or NO... If you say YES, Your fat alone on an island with GOLD and games OVER...PS1 doesn't have this.. Ill never forget that scene..
Man the colors look super dark in this version (started playing the PC version as of today) and I gotta say... PC version has a much better use of color in that regard. But, since my memory is entirely based off the PS1 version, it's so confusing to play the PC version seeing all this content and hidden areas the PS1 version didn't have. The fairy glade level has already screwed with my memory of the layout so much! I had the PS1 version memorized by heart back then.

I do wonder how Rayman 2 would run on Atari Jaguar the "64bit" console with a d-pad only controller. 😆 Sorry, no that'd be practically impossible for a 3D game like this which needs an analog stick (and the camera can at times be your enemy).

This is the one I played growing up, the PS2 version is just too different for me really. This one has its own vibe that sets it apart in a way, the downgraded graphics make it creepier.

This is nowhere as hard as the pc version....there were more missions, some of this very hard and the boss fight was completely different, much more difficult, almost impossible 😆

You are flying on the flying bomb and you are in a big room with lava rising and obstacles. You have to get over all to obtain special ammo to shot to the boss, but they are limited, only 3 shot each time than you have to go back and take some more
are you joking? There's an extreme amount of content missing from the game. The music may be improved, there's extra cutscenes (despite the amount of cutscenes that got removed), and the vibration support's easier to use but other than that most of the N64 version is better. On top of that, the PC and Dreamcast versions have the extra music and the former's otherwise identical to the N64 version content-wise so there's no reason to complain about the different hub. The voice acting is hit or miss on the PS1 and some prefer the charm of the gibberish, the controls are the same, and a lot of sound effects are missing (ironically).

As a lifelong N64 player, the voice acting is very strange to hear. Rayman and Globox sound like Doug Funny and Patrick Star.

Cuz of the voice acting which took up quite a bit of the game's memory so they had to cut things out.

On top of that, the PC and Dreamcast versions have the extra music and the former's otherwise identical to the N64 version content-wise so there's no reason to complain about the different hub. The voice acting is hit or miss on the PS1 and some prefer the charm of the gibberish, the controls are the same, and a lot of sound effects are missing (ironically).

@@RobertK1993 I don't care about which console is the best, both have their strengths and weaknesses. It's just that the N64, PC and Dreamcast versions of Rayman 2 are way better than the ps1 version.
