    I would add weights in the rear when any weight was in the bucket.

      Absolutely. I ended up loading the (new ag style) tires, putting on 50lb cast iron wheel weights, and adding a 3 point ballast box filled with concrete.

    I'm surprised they consider any of the John Deere 400 series as garden tractors. I bet them older GTs are built tougher than the modern sub-compact tractors. Sweet rig! With the loader, diesel engine, AG tires and 3PT, you'll conquer the world! Take care Luke,
    Gan

      Thanks for the comment! You’re right they are seriously overbuilt, which is why they’re around almost 50 years later. Great machines!

      never seen a GT not blown up and scrapped last more than 10 years, mean while a 71 140H3 is still going and had it's engine rebored and rebuilt twice just because it was getting slightly less powerful.

    That Thomas guy seems to know everyone. Looks cool, I did not know that the levers had extenders for the 430, but I guess that's not at all surprising considering the overall length of the 430.

      Yeah there were longer levers on the 430 version. I had a really difficult time finding a picture to show though, because it was so uncommon. Basically every 430 with the #44 loader I have seen online has the short levers like mine.

    2:58 john deere dealer id for the 445 to use a 40 loader you need 4 ply tires and atleast 200# of rear ballast with 400# of rear ballast recommended or there will be lots of problems. 90's series 400's need a reserve hydro tank of atleast 5 gallons as only the 455 has a larger hydro cooler and like cheap welders use of the loader is only good for short bursts at a time or the hydro fluid will overheat and boil. i run alot of heavy equipment all day long and yeah, everything i was told matches up with everything i experience on heavy equipment such as a Ford 4500 long bed with a barko boom arm and clam grapple slinging sections of rebar cages, 8'diax10'-50' drill casing, 2'diax2' to 8'diax4-6' drill heads, cutters/pickers, plates, generators, 1,000-10,000 gallon water tanks, and dewatering pumps, dirt tillings from high voltage power line construction. it applies to the cranes that pick and set the hole side wall casings & rebar cages into the power pole holes and also the dril rig mounted to the 12 wheel watson crane carrier

    Nice rig. I noticed that the rear fender pan was drilled for snow cab. Do you have the subframe brackets which support the cab underneath the fender pan? My friend has a 430 and I have a Cozy steel snow cab. Just need the lower brackets if you have them.

      I actually made those holes a while ago because I mounted a 445 cab on it to see how it would work. The fit wasn’t great.

    hey buddy...at 2:13 in the video you show the mid mount bracket that the hydraulic pump attaches. Can you take some measurements of the size of the steel plate
    that the hydraulic pump attaches to? Also, the length of the 2 side plates that connect the front plate to the rear plate and height of them? There are ears that stick out from the side of the back plate that side on the inside of the frame of the tractor I believe. anything you can share about the size of them would be very appreciated. thx

    I’m planning on buying a 430, could I get some tips on what to look for? Thanks.

      Check the usual spots for wear and look for a nice machine with low hours. Check the drive linkage for play and creep, as well as the steering and linkage. Look for leaks in the engine, cooling system, and hydraulics, and make sure everything works. Find a nice clean machine with low hours unless you like a project. They are great machines and I’m sure you’ll love one. The one with the loader in my video is for sale currently.

    I also put a 44 loader on my 430 and subframe was from a 420, I chose to just add I believe it was 7" of heavy wall pipe to the subframe to make it fit. I did not get the pump or bracket with mine, so I ended up making a bracket that put's the pump on the front PTO. one thing I noticed is I cannot remove the grille from my tractor with the sub-frame on, and was wondering if it was cause I converted a 420 subframe to fit, but it looks like yours is the same way?

    • @LukesJohnDeereGarage
      @LukesJohnDeereGarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mine has a modified 755 grill I made fit, since they’re available new. It can be removed because it attaches a little differently. I have an OEM 430 grill and I feel like there should be room above the subframe for it to fit though.
      Mine came with a 420 subframe as well, but I was very fortunate to know a guy that had a spare 430 subframe and wanted to trade.

    You had it shipped?!? How much was that is it worth driving 2 1/2 hours for a 316 with steering breaks and dual hydraulic valves? It’s 500 bucks

    • @LukesJohnDeereGarage
      @LukesJohnDeereGarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a pretty good deal for a 316 with those upgrades already done! If it’s in good mechanical shape and running I wouldn’t hesitate to look at it for that price.
