this was right smack dab in the middle of the 70ies the brunette is lead vocals and her sister te blonde is lead guitar Ann and Nancy Wilson did have a very unique sound many songs like ... Magic Man and Barracuda.. but to me their best pure music live performance was their cover of the Stairway to heaven live in a theater while Led Zepplin minus John Bohnam (r.I.P) its so good .....even tho the ladies are like over 60.... pure talent to say the least see you next time

Nancy Wilson's acoustic guitar intro is wonderfully inspired and her sister Ann's vocals are simply astonishing. They were best with the original lineup of the band as you could hear a strong Led Zeppelin influence as well as an ethereal Gypsy feel. They we're the first female lead hard rock band to go big. Ann Wilson has been called the female Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). They were real rock. Most women (except Janis Joplin and a few others) were basically told don't bother by the record labels. These two are some badass talented maestros! This sounds light hearted but read the words. Wow!

These shows like the Voice hold this song in very high regard- and are incredibly impressed if a modern singer can really pull these vocals off. They even warn contestants that it's a song that you better be 100% committed to bc there's no middle ground- like Whitney or Aretha songs

Came out in 1975. Heart had a different sound. They became very popular for Rock in the 70 and 80's. They even produced songs in the 90's. Checkout Desire walks on. Great song.

You got it right, it came out in the 70s. This was their first album. Ann Wilson and her sis Nancy on the right. By the way, Nancy played acoustic guitar for the intro on the song and the rest of the song. Glad u liked it.

Ok - nice you appreciate Heart - this was a big hit in 1976 along with Magic Man - Ann & Nancy Wilson were pioneers for women rockers - the biggest hard rock band fronted by women (and sisters). Ann (brunette) had I believe over 3 octaves singing range - Nancy (blonde) is a top lead guitarist/ singer. They have one of the longest active careers in music - from 73 to present (main members) - keep exploring rock - tons of talent - good reaction!

Kinda Karma when Elton wrote Pinball Wizard, a line was, "has such a subtle wrist" Nancy Wilson had/has such a subtle wrist, so fluid. (Not forgetting all your Octaves Annie)

This was Heart's debut album in 1976, they are sisters and Ann, the vocalist, actually sings opera. This was a great album probably their best but they has soma great albums it's difficulty really pick. This album is worth listening to front to back with lots of great songs and a diveresity of styles.
Mistrial Wind is a Wonderful song and someone made a outrageously great video to go with it!
Magic Man is my absolute fav song they do But the album Desire Walks On and the song Black on Black Is viciously sung by Ann...

I remember getting in debates and discussions over the best female voices in rock and pop and similar genres like that..... to many of us it was Ann Wilson, Grace Slick ( white rabbit ) Whitney Houston , Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes ( What’s Up ), Aretha Franklin...... other ladies have great or sweet voices but these could really belt it out.

‘75-‘76 I was a sophomore in college when this was playing on the radio. Magic Man was the first of theirs that I heard. My roommate and I would play it over and over in our dorm room, singing to it at the top of our lungs and probably drove those around us crazy! Also, Dreamboat Annie, Dog and Butterfly, and Alone are softer songs of theirs that are also really great. The 60s and 70s were an amazing era musically. The musical tapestry was so rich, it’s amazing to look back on it now and realize that we had so much wonderful and varied music packed into such a short timeframe.

Heart is a rock band with some folk influence. Lead vocalist Anne (the brunette) is arguably the best female rock vocalist of all time, and her sister Nancy (the blonde) is an amazing vocalist in her own right, as well as a talented guitarist -- she's the one playing the acoustic intro to the song. Their catalog is, like that of Led Zeppelin, varied and eclectic, ranging from rockers to ballads, and much in between. In fact they were heavily influenced by Zeppelin. Check out: Mistral Wind, Magic Man, Barracuda, Dog and Butterfly (and others -- you really can't go wrong, particularly with their pre-80s music).
