We use to get a little mad when Lucinda and her posse would show up at 10 till 10 to eat. We were ready to shut it down! Now all these years later I’m proud that We got to cook for them. Lucinda is just smokin hot and a genius.
Saw her in Nashville tonight 8/29/2024. She is older and her voice is not as great, but she is still awesome. A privilege to see her and I hope she keeps performing.
Lucinda Williams That hard-rocking woman with a heart of gold as good as God above along with her brilliant band, Lucinda Williams has the power to blow many heavy metal bands with their 47truck load's equipment off stage
This was written by Randy Weeks--Lucinda recorded it on her Car Wheels on a Gravel Road album...the only song on that album that was written by someone other than her.
We were friends in 80 when she lived in the east village for a year or so. I stayed for 3 sets one night and became friends and neighbors. I played some harp and drums but never near her league. She had a tune called "Ramone", which was great but got dropped I guess. We caught up a few times years later at NY and NJ gigs and on the bus hang outs later. Marriage I think has been good for her. Fondly, Michael K
OK, Mr BBC Music. A good while ago, I'd never heard of LW, then some woman on Private Passions on Radio 3 played it. It's always a help coming after Beethoven or some such,. but I got heavily into this track. The woman must have owned a chain of shops or something, and her story of why she played the track was more or less : - This reminds me of when I was starting out, and I'd drive to Cornwall and buy an old table for £20, and drive back to London knowing I would get £400 for it ........
I'm always amused by watching Lucinda perform. She writes some of the greatest songs mostly with raw emotional lyrics, but she almost always performs looking so uninspired.
She had a recording career for 20 years prior to this, you don’t need to study vocals to be a great singer but if you’ve recorded several studio albums and toured extensively, you know your own voice and you know how to sing.
Lucinda is an artistic treasure. She is a one of a kind. God broke the mold when he made this woman.
Lucinda is the whole package. Great songwriter, great voice, great performer.
don't think she wrote this one
Man, don't know what rock been livin under, but I just discover her.... YOU ARE AWESOM....

The first time I ever heard Lucinda was on Late Night with David Letterman and she performed Can't Let Go, I've loved her ever since.
I love lucinda Williams & have 11 of her cd's. A fan with regards from England. 🏴
She never gets old for me. This one's the best song...everyone knows this feeling. It's torturous but also funny.

Just picked up a quarter of Revel Lucinda Williams weed from the dispensary. That shit rocks as much as she does. I'm a huge fan in more than one way.
Great performance from 1998. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

Great tune. Love Lu with Pettibone, but this is a great lineup.
Jim Lauderdale and Kenny Vaughan in the band
Looks great with black hair
LW always puts together great bands. Anyone know who's in this one? I only recognize Jim Lauderback (on maraccas).
Great job. I see Jim Lauderdale. Who are the other guys?
I hope she is recovering totally from her stroke. Very scary. All the best to L.W.
Cousin Kenny Vaughan on guitar for one
How can any right minded person not like that. Jesus.
just fucking great

Who was playing slide?
"Feel like I got shot and didn't fall down" That's a lyric. She has to fake the accent but I like this song anyway.
Is that Jim Lauderdale on backing vocals?
And Kenny Vaughn on guitar?
@@CoachBarnyard Yes to both. John Jackson on the slide guitar

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Bland
Блять, почему это пиздато?
Trying to understand her appeal.
hey bbs, I have a feeling that you are broadcasting the first people you come across, this lady is not a professional, she has never studied vocals
She had a recording career for 20 years prior to this, you don’t need to study vocals to be a great singer but if you’ve recorded several studio albums and toured extensively, you know your own voice and you know how to sing.
she sings badly, she needs to do more solfeggio
whatever
She’s got an EXCELLENT voice and what a great band!! Whew!!
She sings awesome!
