i am addicted to this song but the real gem of this comeback for me personally is Allergy. it resonated with me in a way that few songs ever have. and the way they were able to connect the two songs, with very different sounds/moods/lyrics, through the videos to tell the story seamlessly was very clever.
It's certainly not my favorite favorite Idle track musically, but I'm loving this post-Tomboy era of Soyeon getting to say whatever she wants and in a way that is catchy and digestible to just about everyone. You can tell since Tomboy that she's figured out the formula for making a hit song with the Korean general public and is using that as a vehicle to talk about issues that are important to her. I love the visual storytelling in this video and Allergy too. They did a really good job of making two connected and visually interesting pieces.
When I first heard Queencard, my thought was that I enjoyed it, but it was my least favorite title track (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, because I LOVE all their title tracks). But, but BUUUUT! The chorus is possibly the most ear-wormy chorus Idle has ever done. "Ima Queencard, Ima Queencard, Ima ima ima queencard" just keeps coming in my head. I like it a lot more after hearing it a lot. It's crazy, I thought I saw one of the interviews that said that they were going to go with Allergy as their title track, but then Soyeon ended up writing Queencard fairly recently. But yeah, you're right that this follows Soyeon's experience. She specifically referenced the hate she got during Produce 101, when talking about Allergy. And then she pretty much said that seeing the members' confidence, ESPECIALLY Yuqi, is where she got the theme of self-confidence for Queencard.
You may think it's not your style now but you will randomly go "IMMA QUEENCA IMMA QUEENCA IMMA IMMA IMMA QUEENCA IMMA QUEENCA take a photo" in the future for sure

LOVE that Soyeon has the freedom now to do that, she's a GENIUS! Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
