That’s why I think this is the better scene compared to the reanimated versions. It makes Shanks look like he could even make sea monsters fear him just from his stare alone, while also keeping his Haki hidden from the audience.

well maybe not enemy, but certainly a rival, Luffy has been named an Emperor by the World Government like Shanks, so there could be some kind of friendly rivalry between Emperors, not to mention Usopp's dad is part of Shanks's crew
