FRESH homemade kimchi 🍜 Calories per 100g: 48kcal 7.6c 1.7f 2p INGREDIENTS: 550g napa cabbage 20g salt 20g Korean red chilli flakes (Gochugaru) 20g fish sauce 20g salted fermented shrimp (Saeujeot) 30g green plum syrup/extract (Maesil-cheong) 20g minced garlic 30g spring onion 10g sesame oil METHOD: 1. Chop and wash the nappa cabbage and drain as much water as possible. Then mix in salt and let it rest for 30 minutes. 2. While the nappa cabbage is resting, to a separate bowl, combine Korean red chilli flakes, fish sauce, salted fermented shrimp, plum syrup, minced garlic, spring onion, sesame oil, and mix it all together. 3. After 30 minutes, wash the salted napa cabbage and drain as much water as possible and leave it to dry for 10 minutes. 4. After 10 minutes, transfer the napa cabbage to a bowl, add the kimchi paste you made earlier, and mix. You can then store this in the fridge and it should last a while! Fresh kimchi pairs well with any sort of protein, especially beef or pork, and of course you can pretty much use it just like normal kimchi 👌🏼
@@williamdiamant457 It helps the digestive system which is overall health, but for me I eat it for my acne skin. Them bad bacteria in our gut are overwhelming the good ones( probiotics) so we gotta send in more reinforcement :)
@@williamdiamant457Probiotics are a fairly new health trend, so the research on exact effects is a bit patchy. Probiotic basically just means it's got good gut bacteria. People attribute a lot of health benefits, but the most noticeable one is better, more consistent poops lol.
this is a nice recipe and best thing is it might get people develop a taste for the real thing but it being fermented is what gives it the majority of the benefits.
How have you felt after quitting the cut ? Has normal life returned ? You previously said you felt a lot of negatives from cutting. Ps Thank you for your great content🫡
Everything is pretty much back to normal now! During a normal cut, you normally would be fine if you do it correctly! The negatives just mainly came from prolonged cutting for a competition as I had to get to very low body fat levels. But although the recovery took a while, hormones and hunger isn’t an issue anymore ☺️🙏🏼
Great timing! I just made my first ever batch of kimchi and it turned out amazing (even though my european ass can't handle the spice) and I'm looking forward to trying other recipes as well
My favorite kimchi is like 10 calories a serving and i love making kimchi jjigae with it with a can of tuna or salmon 😋 its only like 150 calories per serving and i could down two servings and be stuffed withot guilt !
this is basically how my korean dad makes his kimchi (he gets impatient and doesnt want to let it ferment for longer) still tasty just not the sour tang i crave but good looking out lee 😉

Probiotics is marketing bullshit
Can you tell me some of the health benefits of Kimchi? I Just picked up a big jar at costco after finding out I love the stuff
@@williamdiamant457 there is nothing special about kimchi. It’s just cabbage. People will say it’s good for ‘gut health’ but it’s all nonsense

Haha the longer you leave it in the fridge, the more fermented it gets so it definitely could get them used to the taste over time

Haha i like both! But yeah the process if fermenting kimchi properly is so much effort 🤣
@l_eel_em honestly the patience required to resist eating it right away is the hardest 😫

Can we replace kimchi with chicken breast instead? 😊
Let me know how it turns out 👀
Damn I’ve sea food allergies 😂. Any alternatives for the fermented shrimp?

Haha thanks bro! I don’t have an updated video, but I use a sony zve1 with a sony 24-70mm f2.8 lens ☺️
Best things to put with kimchi?
Always love having it with beef or pork! 👌🏼👌🏼
Anyone knows if I can substitute the chili flakes for chili paste?? Like the Korean chili paste gochujang
I love sour cabbage kimchi 😂😂
Haha me too! This is just another version though!
I dunno why, my brain kinda stops loading whenever I see the tiny shrimp. Are they trynna talk to me, perhaps?💀

It was breezy 🌚
For fresh kimchi you won’t need sesame oil
Lee buy an apron thats says "kiss the cook"
I should make one if anything 🤣🤣

Australia!
Bro needs to being such a cutie patootie 🥲

Literally was just watching kimchi recipes 😂
Haha honestly probably easier to just buy premade kimchi 🤣
@@l_eel_em 💯
You dont put sesame oil in Kimchi
I am Korean and we do. It's call geot-jeol-i(겉절이).
@Bettertomorrow517 Geot jeal-I is not Kimchi , it is more like salad . Would you call it Kimchi salad? You need to correct your title.
