      How to use the legs. Like a breakdown with drills and everything. Everyone says to push but where? Up, to the side, back? Is there a timing to it? Can you do it to early can you do it to late? There isn't tons of videos on effective leg use.

      Eg. As to the reasoning why the server's partner now stands in a central position at the net and is their any truth that doubles partners should image they are attached together by a piece of string when they move about court? Just basic stuff really. Thank you. Tony.

      @@TopTennisTrainingOfficial I watched your video on the one-handed backhand. But I'm always making contact with the ball too late. The great thing about this wrist lag video is that mastering your last drill effectively guarantees I won't hit the ball late. If there were a similar drill for the one-handed backhand or other tips for getting the timing and spacing right, that would be most useful.

    Nice video, last drill/exercise rocks! It would be a great idea to see a video about kinetic chain and drills to automate an efficient body transfer for the forehand. I tend to turn exageratelly to the sides, spoil the equilibrium and loose lot of energy applied to the ball as a consecuence, specially when the rally is at high speed.

    Thanks for the awesome video! I have a question. At 9:00, you said the coach can play with the racket angle. What's the difference between the racquet facing the ground or facing the right side of court? Does facing the ground creates more top spin, and facing the side of the court hits a more flat shot? Thanks.

    Hi guys. Great video. The question is "What is first, the chicken or the egg"?
    What does initiate locking the wrist?
    is it hip movement,
    or locking motion of my wrist (but it should be relaxed at that time),
    or something else that I did not get it?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It comes from a relaxed wrist and using the body correctly to uncoil but the wrist being laid back slightly in the swing also helps. It all goes together

    I can tell Simon using semi-western grip for forehand. What grip does Alex use for his forehand? I see Alex's racket face is kind of perpendicular to the floor on back swing, I'm about the same way, thats my natural back swing, and I use eastern grip. How can I hit forehand with more top spins with eastern grip? Thanks for reading.

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use an eastern, Alex uses a semi-western.
      Play around with the racket angle prior to contact and really focus on brushing up the ball

    Fantastic content, sound & image.
    - May I ask you out of curiosity who you guys think has the better forehand?
    - You both seem to have "normal" loops unlike the shortened loops of Fed and Rafa. If you were still playing competitively for money would you consider shortening your respective loops as you age?
    - Love both FHs. Mine has some elements of Alex's backswing mixed with Simon's upswing (nowhere near the level of either one obviously) which makes me like your vids even more.

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We let the viewers decide who has the better forehand 😂
      Loop - it’s important to have variations, you can’t always use one. Most pros have three main swings - normal loop, 50% loop (when rushed) and return of serve swing

    • @ncournault
      @ncournault 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TopTennisTrainingOfficial thanks for taking the time to reply.
      Fair answer on who has the best FH lol.
      I'd like to reframe one of my questions on the loop. Has one of you felt the need/urge to shorten their rally loop to make up for slower footwork as the years have gone by? Is it something you'd recommend to an aging player even if that meant a little less power?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That could work, slightly less of a loop will save you time. But early preparation could also give you a huge boost in time

      @@TopTennisTrainingOfficial: Hard to say, Simon. You, guys, cover pretty much everything. Right now I am slowly going through your videos and memorize your advises and implement then into my game. If you did not cover these topics, I would love to hear your thoughts on the following ones:
      1) Winning play patterns for clay court players;
      2) Fitness for tennis players (young and those who are 45+);
      3) Main strategies for 45+ players who play peers and guys who are 20 years younger.
      The reason I focus my attention on these three topics is:
      1) I am 46. Once a week I play with the guy who's 20 years younger. He is destroying me, but sometimes I manage to take 2-3 games in a set.
      2) I love to lift free weights including kettle bells, and I noticed that sometimes I do too much and, as a consequence, I don't have any energy to play top of my game on court.
      3) I play on clay courts.
      Again, thank you for doing great job!
      With best regards from Ukraine,
      Vitaliy
