The female singer in this song is Anneke van Giersbergen, the former singer of The Gathering(gothic metal/progressive rock). They were one of my most favorite female fronted metal bands along with Tristania and Theater of Tradgedy, all with different singers now but not as good. That was way back when Nightwish still had Tarja. Anneke has done lots of side projects, including some solo pop stuff, and does a lot of collaborations with Devin Townsend. You should check out one of his songs with her. My favorite one is Higher.

Well, I can't be sure about the video, but somehow I got the idea that the song says you should bravely go into the beyond when death comes for you instead of fighting it tooth and nail. The zombified people having a smoke together kind of don't look like a good way to spend the rest of your "life", even if it is together with someone you used to love. Eventually you will hate them for trapping you in such a dismal existence.
If you ever go to react on their song "The Bee" just do a little research and read about the song's story before. The song is awesome and knowing the backstory will make it great! Scandinavian mythology. Like most of their songs. nice done.
