There's something about Sephiroth's original voice that is completely incomparable to anything else I've ever heard. Sephiroth always knows what's going on in the Dissidia games, he's always ahead of everyone else. In the original games he was the first one to regain is memories by killing himself over and over once he found out that dying restored some of his memories. In this game he catches on to Shinryu and how he appears before everyone else and even knew they would eventually team up to defeat him.

He put all of his emotions into Crisis Core and he sounded terrible there. That scream at the end was the most cringe worthy thing ever. So glad they got someone else for the Remake; though, I played with Japanese audio because they are superior VA's. Well, maybe not for Don Corneo, Mark Hamill is always best. ;)
It does confuse me why Cloud is always matched up with Sephiroth. I know they have a connection and deep history but Cloud is not Sephiroth's physical match. Sephiroth was pushed the furthest he has ever been pushed during the fight in Advent Children (because he uses two hands to fight Cloud) but he's still holding back so much that he's at least another tier or two above Cloud in terms of skill. He just toys with him. Cloud is probably the second strongest or third strongest in the FF7 universe at the end of Dirge but I feel like Sephiroth is always just humoring him or amused by him :P

Sephiroth Crescent It would have made sense had Sephiroth initially been young like that but he wasn’t. I dunno I guess such an intimidating presence in this series for so long sounding like some sort of teenager seems wrong. Newborn sounded menacing and strong this new guy sounds like a kid trying to sound menacing and strong. Maybe it’ll grow on me after a while but Newborn was the perfect fit. It was a mistake changing him.
Sephiroth Crescent It doesn’t really fit with the character though, that’s the problem. I have nothing against the actor doing the voice and I liked Kadaj. There wasn’t any reason to change Sephiroth. His voice, Japanese and English were already perfect along with his design. Imma still play the remake but I’m going to be pretty annoyed about it.
God I miss Steve Burton as the voice of cloud. So direct and cold, while still having a sort of lightness about him. Beautiful voice and tone for a challenging character to define.

It does confuse me why Cloud is always matched up with Sephiroth. I know they have a connection and deep history but Cloud is not Sephiroth's physical match. Sephiroth was pushed the furthest he has ever been pushed during the fight in Advent Children (because he uses two hands to fight Cloud) but he's still holding back so much that he's at least another tier or two above Cloud in terms of skill. He just toys with him. Cloud is probably the second strongest or third strongest in the FF7 universe at the end of Dirge but I feel like Sephiroth is always just humoring him or amused by him :P
It’s his pride, he never uses real effort because he believes deep inside that no one deserves this kind of effort, in addition to the desire of not letting cloud find peace in death before knowing true despair.

Sephiroth Crescent It would have made sense had Sephiroth initially been young like that but he wasn’t. I dunno I guess such an intimidating presence in this series for so long sounding like some sort of teenager seems wrong. Newborn sounded menacing and strong this new guy sounds like a kid trying to sound menacing and strong. Maybe it’ll grow on me after a while but Newborn was the perfect fit. It was a mistake changing him.

Sephiroth Crescent It doesn’t really fit with the character though, that’s the problem. I have nothing against the actor doing the voice and I liked Kadaj. There wasn’t any reason to change Sephiroth. His voice, Japanese and English were already perfect along with his design. Imma still play the remake but I’m going to be pretty annoyed about it.

God I miss Steve Burton as the voice of cloud. So direct and cold, while still having a sort of lightness about him. Beautiful voice and tone for a challenging character to define.
