I'm 54 and have played since I was 12 and I record threw a modeler (Sonicake) into the DAW, then when I play live, I bring the same modeler to the gig and run it into a totally clean Fender reverb and out to the house threw the XLR on the back. This way I get the same sound live as I do on the recording.
thanks for the great comment and ya I do that with my boss GT-1000 going into my orange crush 120 head with 2x12 cab on the clean channel and then a line out into the PA as well. So I get my amp sound on stage and then the front of the house sound out to the crowd as well.
I personally love real amps and cabs. However they are super expensive and in my situation they take up to much room. So for me sims/modelers and FRFR's are more realistic and still sound good and get the job done.
Totally understand and there are many like you that just do not have the room to have a bunch of amps around it took me years to finally have a real studio for all my gear.
@@Rocktalk101Before I sold my house I had a studio and sold off a bunch of gear I use to have I had 22 guitars and amps, cabs etc. However now that I'm living a semi retired life. I really don't need all that. I'm down to 5 of my favorite guitars still have a couple amps. But its just easier to plug into my motu and start creating without all the hassle of turning amps on and off. Still have a massive pedal collection because they don't take up the room and cost very little compared to the rest.
If you're just a one sound guy like evh or Angus young or yngwie, get one nice amp... you won't be disappointed. I like many sounds and don't want or can afford 8 different amps. I have my core amp and dabble with the modeler and I'm ok with that.
My orange crush amps are my one go to amp hense why I own them in the 120w 60w 20w and 20w micro terror. Which size I use depends on were I am playing at. As far as all my other amps well I have accumulated them over many years of playing and I have kept them for others to use in my studio if they like to either just jam out of or to record with. when owning a studio it is good to own a few different amps when having others coming in to do there recording. But for me it is all about orange amps. thanks for the comment and watching the video.
@@Rocktalk101 if you look around, a lot of people use orange... they've really come back with a vengeance. Kind of an underrated amp... Marshall and maybe the dual rec kind of get all the spotlight.
@@user-qr7ee2cp4y I started off a big peavey and marshall guy then I got to play an Orange amp one day and that was it for me. Took me many years to finally own one but after that I have been slowly working on my orange amp collection. I have a few more I am saving up to buy still.
