I was never a fan of the design in the anime, but it looks so much better in model form for some reason. I honestly like this version more than the Try Burning Gundam.
I have just finished this kit, I really enjoyed building it. I think the belt's cute :p Overall I like how the kit looks and although the lack of clear orange effect parts for the body kind of bugs me, at least it's less effect parts to keep track of. Also mine can't support that flying kick pose with the flame effect on.
That sword is awful. would have been better in all grey like they did with the Barbatos sword. I do kinda want to get this to put the new back effect parts on my Try Burning.

In the anime it was never shown his blue parts turning orange or effects from burning burst system so maybe that's the reason why it didn't have the effect parts for it.
a couple of cool mods you could do with this kit is to get a clear part to put over the logo on the shoulder, and another thing you can do is take sections of the clear blue runners and file them down to fit into the tiny slots on the hand covers since those slots should be blue.

The upcoming HG Shin Burning Gundam seemed to only replace the right shoulder to be symmetry with the left one, and even comes with less burning effects... Hopefully there is improvement in the joint (new runner?).. Hope you compare it when the time you review that new HG 🙏

Eric Willis there are some LARGE HG, because of the 1/144 scale, some are bigger than others, the Psycho Gundam, for example, is a 8 in HG. There's also the HUGE ones like the HG Neo Zeon, which is as big, if not bigger than a PG.

just got it and yeah aside from the shoulder and the master gundam backpack it's the same, you can build it into kamiki burning except the vfin
