Assault: The contender must attempt to hit a target while a Gladiator shoots at them using a tennis ball cannon.

ABOUT AMERICAN GLADIATORS:
Welcome to the official channel of American Gladiators, home of patriotic spandex and giant cotton swabs.
Beginning in 1989 for 8 seasons, this competition swept America. Two men and two women compete against each other and a roster of "American Gladiators". Events included, The Assault, Joust, The Wall, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, Powerball, and many others, all culminating in the final event, "The Eliminator", a difficult obstacle course race. Every season there is a tournament to determine its "Grand Champion". For two seasons, there was an "International" competition taped in England where the champions from 4-6 countries competed similarly.

This was always my favorite game. My brothers and I would make our own Assault course with stuffed animals as kids. Haha. I wish i could go back to those days.
HAHA! Yeah I made an assualt course in my basement, nerf guns, folded socks as grenades....great times.
I would make my own assault course in my basement with a different nerf gun at each station, then have socks as grenades. LOL Those were the days.
Me and my friends would daydream of getting a chance to run the gauntlet in a game of assault. This was the reason I watch American Gladiator

Bring back American Gladiators! Do it like the new BBC version, show it on a saturday night in winter and watch with the family and friends! It would be a winner!
I always loved how humble the gladiators were to the challengers.
My older brother and I loved watching this show together everyday! The Summer Times were the best for us. This was definitely one of my favorite games to watch along with a few others!
This was such a fun show. Wish they’d bring it back.

Loved watching this as a kid
Good old memories. It ran at around 2pm every weekday in German television. I got home, made my lunch my mother prepared the day before and watched American Gladiator

Damn, I used to watch this show all the time and forgot about it. Very entertaining.
There were more people at these shows than there are now at Oakland a’s home games.
The referee was a teacher of mine in high school. He would get us tickets to the shows all the time.

I was glad they introduced new weapons in the 2008 Edition. However, I didn’t like some of the rules they had, from “lading the Turret/Cannon” to “finding an arrow in a sand pit”. The only thing I liked from the 2008 Version of Assault was when they had the Giant Slingshot as a Weapon, which was Perfect.
If they reintroduce AG, and bring back Assault, these should be the 5 Stations & Weapons;
1). Crossbow!
2). Launcher/Bazooka!
3). Turret/Cannon!
4). Pistol/Rifle!
5). Slingshot!
6). Finish Line!
Glad they change the rules in Season 3, where you earn a point for firing each weapon, as oppose to not earning any points for any weapons fired in Seasons 1-2. Also, hitting the targets should be enough to just earn the full ten points, as oppose to just getting 7 points.

I miss the 90’s
I've had a look at a few episodes of the UK version, and though this event is mostly the same, there are a few minor differences. For instance, across the pond, each station "explodes" every 10 seconds, so the contenders have to rush as fast as they can to fire that weapon. They had two seasons of International Gladiators taped in England, both of which had Mike Adamle as a co-host, so I believe they used their format for the competition in both cases.
If they had tactical training those gladiators don't have a chance. You don't stay that close to cover if you want to return fire .
What's more, there were four shelters compared to our five. (Crossbow, bazooka, rocket launcher, mortar)
Also there was a pipe from shelter 4 to the goal buzzer which, once the contender was inside, made them virtually untouchable.

Ain’t no way, Survivor is still a show and you’re exposed to everything on it. Talkin out of yours, it would have been ratings cause the show fell off in popularity over time it was on for years.

0:41 I've always been a fan of Nitro 💣 because while he was aggressive at times, he cared if a contender got hurt 👏👏👏 I never saw that in dirty glads like Laser and Turbo 👎

I always thought head shots were inherently illegal in Assault.
Not in the US, at least; maybe in other countries....
The only other countries I know that have Assault are UK and Finland, and both allow headshots.
It's just bounces that don't count.
