  • Maritime traditions are not fixed knowledge. On the contrary, they have been enriched by multiple contributions over the centuries. Maritime traditions have adapted to technical progress, the new economic environment and the evolution of societies. Today the expression of attachment to maritime culture results more from fun and leisure activities or the desire to reappropriate the culture than from traditional fishing activities... Through this attachment and the story of the great Caribbean maritime epic, VOYAGES CARAIBES offers an original approach to the Culture of the islands of the Antilles, Haiti and Panama and a journey back in time, to the era of the settlement of these regions.

Some of the only people on our planet who were doing it right to begin with... and continue to live right and as one with the planet. It's a shame that instead of being great examples for how the rest of the world could be living... They were instead seen as another people/tribe/civilization who could be marginalized and taken advantage of.
I hope I live long enough to see humanity come together and live once again in the way of our ancestors. Only taking what we need, nothing more, and always giving more than we have taken.
These techniques and cultural influences are far too important to be forgotten.
Thanks to those who are still living this way and teaching it to future generations.

Well traditionally it's not a sailboat because they clearly stated in the documentary many many times that it was "white man" that brought the sail
