It's great to see you standing in front of a broken trailer again. It's been a *long* time, Larry! Paracord is universally good stuff to have around, regardless of what you're doing. It's like duct tape. Interesting tip on removing a top. I haven't seen this one before, and though it's a bit labor intensive for maybe 15 minutes, it makes it a helluva lot easier to deal with in the long run.
im doing a restoration on a old camper on zero budget, so soaking all the bolts and hardware in vinegar to shine them up, anyways i appreciate you sharing this as im about to do this just to get the bit of ceiling panel out from between the top plate and rafter beam in order to remove rotted wood and colonies of sugar ants living in there. anyways i got a plumbers torch and some solder to patch a few spots hope it works. stay cool and thanks again
Wow, a great idea for sure. It is wonderful to see you back to work. I can imagine your pretty happy about that as well bother. Can't wait to get into the new trailer, hope it all goes well!
Our 53 Sportcraft/Aljoa's roof is rolled up just like that! I hope you'll be filming more of the Aljo... We followed along with the Deville build during our our 59 Cardinal restore, you are life (sanity) saver!
Hi Ginger. Yes I'll be showing more of this project. I'm not doing the complete job bur what I do on this one will be showing some new tricks and tips.
Desertphile "Fun" is when I'm sitting in that lawn chair with a camera, filming someone else doing the work so I can put it on TH-cam and monetize it. LOL
At least you admit you are lazy, have money to burn, and must not be very good with your hands either. lol not to mention you have no compassion for others doing a job that you don't want to. Classic.
Dev C Dev I know these clowns and they are kidding. Desertphile works very hard and has many skills that he demonstrates on a daily basis. Same with Anonymoose. He posted videos of his self done kitchen remodel that most people would die for. He also completely rebuilt a guitar on video and demonstrated very detailed work. They are just screwing with me brother. LOL...
I'm glad your well and returned to work Hope Sabrina's good too. If you can email me some f that scrap aluminum or aluminium as we Brits say.... i could do with it for my casting furnace that I'm building
All is well. I've just been way too busy to post videos while trying to get caught up on a trailer that sat for 6 months while I was healing from the eye injury. Also trying to beat the coming heat. Videos will resume soon though.
Welcome back Larry . I can see how enthusiastic you are getting back to work. How did you like the Celtic CD. I sent to you ? I am assuming that you have it by now. Cheers and don't work too hard. Thanks.
Everything is good. I've just been really busy trying to play catch up since I got back to a normal schedule. I was off for 6 months with the eye injury. Lately I haven't had the time to produce a video but that will change soon. Thanks for asking Todd.
Really loving all of your videos, you're an incredible resource, thanks so much for sharing! I have a 1954 (?) Aljoa 14' or 15', can you give a 'ballpark' figure for what a new rolled roof skin would cost from Hemet (one continuous piece 8' x 16' I think)? Do you know if its 3003 or 2024-0 Aluminum? Also, are the wall panels abutted to the sides of the base in Aljoa's of that vintage, or do they sit on top of the plywood base? I'm in California, and the Aljo's in NM so I can't check myself. Thanks again!
I would rather you call Steve Loomis at Hemet Valley RV and Siding and he will be happy to give you an exact quote. 951-765-5075. Ask for Steve. They are built out of multiple 4 foot sheets locked together with a leak proof seam. Then it is one continuous piece and it comes rolled up as seen in my 57 Westerner vids. I'm not sure of the thickness but Steve can answer that question for you. Glad you like the videos. Check out my website for more.
mobiltec Thanks for the reply, I will inquire. You had mentioned a source for new J bar, but looked through your links and couldn't find it. Enjoying the vids, spent the past few week watching the Deville vids when i could get a chance!
Brian Barreto Steve also has new J Rail and Awning Rail for sale. So you can order that with your new metal. I need to do a video about that also. Probably next time I am out there.
Good to have you back, going to be fun watching this project. CHEERS !!!!!
Cheers Robert.
Priceless, priceless information!!
Third viewing!!
About to do this to my Shasta Starflyte. Likely by myself, because can't get help.
Glad to see you back doing what you love.
I'm just glad to see again LOL...

Great to see you back at it!

Ya Mike. I haven't been watching videos because I've been so busy. Trying to make up for 6 months of sitting on my butt. Glad to be back at it.
Do what you have to do I say!
I think the roof metal is around $35 a foot now so i'll be reusing mine.
Glad I got the metal for the Jewel before all this happened...
@@mobiltec you’re not kidding. I need 4 sheets of plywood for the floor of my 60 deluxe. It’s around $80 a sheet. I hope it comes down soon.

A fine video. Seems much easier to pay someone else to do it.
Then you miss out on all the fun...
mobiltec "Fun" is when I sit in a lawn chair reading a book while someone else is working.

I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. I've got a few videos in the making. Just been very busy playing catch up after 6 months of being off.
If I tried that a 56 mph wind would come and wrinkle it up. Wind never blows till Im doing something
