    Conservative, straightforward, with periods of intense energy and calm repose leading to a melancholy conclusion, this is a work that maintains its' integrity and seriousness of purpose while being both accessible and enjoyable. Wiren's works are mostly unfamiliar to me, other than the String Serenade, but I intend to remedy that situation!

    Enjoyed very much this spare and austere symphony - throughout on the edge of collapsing - it demonstrates a mastery of symphonic thought. Transparent and fulfilling...

      Obviously it's Dausgaard & Norrköping Symphony Orchestra since this is the only recording, and its length matches that of the CD. One brief Internet search would have sufficed. Rather than being grateful to the only person who uploaded this fascinating symphony, you insult them. Why??
