      'Who use the cover of the church' - I don't think they 'use' the church as a cover. Their religion and holy book directly inspires various forms of cruelty.

The way I've seen some Christians behave towards other people is nothing short of vile but they keep using the same 'im born again' and 'ive been saved" as an excuse. Shouldn't the Church of England be made to close completely while investigations, arrests and court trials, as any other organisation would be if the same had gone on? There is no point in any apology if it isn't supported by action to support and compensate the victims and permanent changed behaviour.

    Being American I had to look up "public schools" in Britain, and found this definition:
    "Leading motives for parents to choose private schooling are the wish for their children to gain better academic results through smaller class sizes and better facilities, and to mix with a preferred peer group." The boys chosen for the abuse came from these type of schools. How is the Church of England connected with these schools?

    • @Ad-Lo
      @Ad-Lo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Public Schools in the UK = Private Schools in the USA. Some Public Schools across the Commonwealth are religious, others are not. The difference is really in the fees paid, not the relationship with the Church of England (Anglican) or Roman Catholic Church.

    The fact that this new Vicar did not listen "carefully enough" to those who spoke up about abuse makes him complicit. Why? Because he was told something extremely serious - and did nothing. In a way this makes him worse. I am sincerely glad that God is obviously not afraid of what so many Christian leaders have swept under the carpet is now coming right out into the open. But I say to you - the new Vicar - and your like - shame on you, shame on all of you. You have so very badly damaged the lives of so many, and you have made the church a very unsafe place for some. You sit back on that bench, appear so relaxed etc, but I say to you that you are accountable - to those you ignored, deliberately, and to God. It has taken many years for some of us to deal with spiritual abuse alone. You cannot run away from this!! YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE, and you will not be able to duck and dive in and out of this by clever reasoning excuses etc. Why can't you just do the decent thing and admit what you have done - you have deliberately ignored the claims of your people of abuse - why can't you just admit it?! Don't you see that if you continue on like this you give a terrible picture of the church, and who will want to risk abuse in a place that should be a place of safety? Have you any idea what it's like being up all night praying about spiritual abuse alone, and how you're not coping with it? I have spent many a night like this. I hope someone cares enough t pray for all such victims. Do you even care? Shame upon you

There's a lot to straighten out in the Church of England. It would be better if we end up with a more orthodox Archbishop of Canterbury and to begin to straighten out the mess.
