Those 175 units are replaced by the horrible 197 on the Welsh lines. There was a fire or two on the 175s. but nothing that could be put right. The bogies were more rigid, unlike the 197s crap, and the seats were better. Anyhow this is a good video, especially seeing the faithful 37s.
@bfapple at the moment, the AT300s are being used on stopping services. One was on a Gloucester to Frome service today, another on Westbury to Gloucester, and also a couple on Bristol Temple Meads to Worcester Shrub Hill services today.
At the end of the day it's just one variety of plastic crap being replaced by a newer variety of plastic crap. The people we should really feel sorry for are the Cornish, losing quality Inter-City HSTs and being given glorified buses in exchange. Even most buses nowadays are more comfortable than the rubbish that passes for a modern train.
What puzzles me is why these diesel units aren't driven to their new destination under their own power ? . Surely it would be considerably more economical?.
In uk you have to know everything about the route you drive and everything about the train you drive, there probably isn’t people who know the Devon and Cornwall route and know how to drive a 175
Bloody hell man didn’t even realise it was you I met at Leominster! Was me and my friend kaiya! Cheers, keitao.

Some of the 175s are going to GWR
@@johnUB4478all of them, unless you’ve heard differently.
@bfapple 27 sets. I'm guessing that's all of them. I assume it'll be the castle sets gone, and maybe the 150s as well.

I think 27 sets are going to GWR. Maybe there was lack of drivers who sign routes, and traction?
@@johnUB4478yeah, given that they were used exclusively in Wales for years there will be few if any drivers who can drive them and know the route.
@@neiltonks4627 I assume that's why they're being dragged down to Plymouth

@@neiltonks4627they went in and out of parts of England (Hereford, Shrewsbury, Crewe, Chester and Manchester etc.) but I know what you mean.
