Life Update #7 (Hanami & Making Friends)

Spring is finally here. I thought for this video I'd take you guys out to one of my favorite remote spots for viewing the Sakura blossoms (花見, hanami) and get you all up to speed on all the goings on in my little corner of the Kyoto countryside.
In this life update I share a chance encounter with a really cool young guy named Doi-chan. He showed up on his vespa right as I began filming and after we talked for about 20 minutes off camera I asked him if he'd be down to do a little interview. I talked with him a bit about his background, the Kyoto countryside, and his hopes for the future of Japan. I'm always a bit nervous to conduct interviews in Japanese because my speaking level is still quite low, but I did my best and I think it turned out better than I expected. It helped that Doi-chan is an incredibly friendly and outgoing person.
After he left, I got into a bit of my future plans for releasing new music, travel plans and the direction of the this channel. It was so refreshing to get out into the warm spring weather and enjoy hanami before the rain came and ripped all the beautiful flowers from the trees. I hope you guys will enjoy the flowers with me.
