The opening reminds me of a band director joke: The band director walks into rehearsal to find an oboe player choking on her reed. She's obviously in distress so the band director calls 911. They tell him a crew is on the way and asks if the band director knows what to do in the meantime. The band director responds, "of course; I'll use a trumpet with a straight mute." As a bassoonist, I'm slightly offended at the opening, but well done! 😂
