Hi, I am a Filipino and very surprised the Philippine team also participate in this competition. Really happy a group from least Chinese culture joined. Though its a bit lacking but still praise them for healthy competition there.
1. We dont know how phlilippinos celebrate Chines New Year, but theres no least Chinese culture, theres only big Chinese culture, remember Chinese Tradition exist for over 6000 years and more! 2. Theres always healthy and equal competition, especially when its about New Year Lion Dance, people train very hard for this wonder and beautiful tradition, you need to be respectuful! 3. The word lacking must be fitting to the phlilippino culture, because most of south estern countries dont know and dont appreciate Chinese culture. After all happy Chinese New Year! ^^

Most likely, the team from the Philippines that competed in this event is Filipino Chinese. I don't know where you are from but you need to be open-minded and read carefully. The malaysian lion really act just like a real lion . I think that's make them high score right ? Not just the acrobatic skill . I do not know much about lion dance . Can somebody tell me how they score and judge ??
The one philippines lion dance is my favorite one because i live in philippines in that lion dance from the video of the philippines was the lion dancers of davao

狮头表情很重要。。不只是看跳来跳去的难度。。表情要很自然。。表情僵硬就扣分了

9个香港裁判都没有你一个那么厉害。。。
你注意香港队的狮尾，腰弯得不够低，每天跳跃时都看到狮尾的头型。狮态已经扣分了。
所以裁判会注意你没有注意到的细节。

This yellow lion from Malaysia was anyway not famous back home but it did great in this competition
But it's popular in Sabah. It can combine Lion Dance (Chinese), Sumazau (Kadazandusun) and Magunatip (Murut). 3-in-1 dance.
Just send the second or third class team to compete but still get 1st prize ! The Muar Guan Sheng Gong is world no 1 for so many years!
