      Zan Mathews lol dude its boxing. You can not slip and block every punch if you spar 10+rounds

      Necati Elci yeah but i find that id rather not use headgear.It becomes heavy after 10 rounds and wearing headgear in my opinion really develops bad habits when fighting

    • @jojoz6752
      @jojoz6752 5 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Zan Mathews then you fee lighter after all the resistance when you take it off. Then when your in a fight without the bar, you can slip easier

    I had my first sparring session this past week and thought my sparring partner broke my nose but luckily it was just a little swollen on the left side of the bridge on my nose. I think I will invest in a facesaver headgear, I would hate to have my nose broken in sparring.

    • @snehalkrishnan618
      @snehalkrishnan618 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Pete Long me too, I would be so pissed if I got my nose broken in sparring. In an actual fight that's a different story but I would be furious if my nose was broken in training.

      exact same thing happened to me (not on my first day of sparing likely!) and what you have described is called septal hematoma which is quite dangerous if not treated. I know because I have just been released from the hospital after a surgery so if you still have a swelling go to see your doctor asap.

      Same thing happened to me recently! Been sparring for 3 years without headgear (Muay Thai though so less hits straight on the nose) and just recently I got bruised on the bridge and I ordered a nose bar headgear haha it's just not worth it

  • @robertkelly3357

    no offense meant, but your argument is inconsistent. you say the nose guard headgear is no good, but then say the fg 5000 is the best out there. it doesnt make sense to me that the nose guard headgear is no good but the best headgear out ther is nose guard headgear.

Iam just asking because i fit this category i think,, because i watch all the fights and iam always thinking boxing and i train a bit a home but i never took that step to train n try to go pro because i think iam too old.

    I usually roll with no head gear while sparing due to what the man in the video said earlier it's not designed to lessen a hard punch it's designed to prevent cuts in my opinion head movement and a good defense are better tactics for protecting your head

      Carlos Martinez i cant imagine how bad i would be if i stsrted off with headgear.I recently just bought headgear because i have a fight coming and my sparring sessions need to be trippled and i dont want to get bad cuts....
      the thought of not having my peripheral vision,gloves unable to touch my face and the extra weight...its quite annoying to wear headgear
