Here are some rules of thumb when it comes to floatplanes:
1: The floats are about 75% of the length of the plane.
2: The step is about halfway down the length of the float.
3: When the floats are installed, the step should be just behind the c.g.
Hope this information helps, keep up the good work!

Except that, what people posted above, build new airframe. Box with attached wings, which have attached two more boxes can't get "speed challange". Something like floating flying wing would be awsome (and
      innovative by the way)

Nice design. I think it's got a lot of potential, but you need to get the warp out of it that's causing that right wing to drag so much. Also I'm relatively sure the prop pitch is too low. Not sure what an optimal prop looks like for a foam floatplane since there's a lot of drag...

That was awsome.I've always wanted to build the Supermariene.the reason it was so hairy to fly is because the plane is too small.I've spent 30 years flying and building and had a master builder my dad(rest in peace dad) to help me.I like building aircraft with wingspan of 60-90mm.my dad always said that they were too small but I loved the fact they always flew great.I recommend u use a larger plane but we'll done on this project.I was very impressed.

Very nice work. I'm curious, how were the floats constructed? What adhesives used etc.? Trying to figure out how I can prevent leaks if I one day try a floatplane of my own. :) In terms of higher speed, everyone's saying "beef it up" and they're not wrong, but I'd personally look at cutting drag before increasing power. Shaving boxy corners off fuse and floats to lower total surface area? Shaving down trailing edges of wings/stabs to as thin as possible? Seeing if you can get away with slightly smaller floats? (though maybe not much if going to a heavier power rig.)
