Another one I consider to be a requirement for console gaming is action bar saver. It saves your spell placements so I save my desktop / controller setup independently and switch based on what device I'm on (I play on pc and steamdeck)

Just started playing with a controller in my living room this week, it's awesome. For those who don't know, i probably don't have DS4windows setuped properly since it messes ConsolPort default keybinding so i just turned it off, and since Dragonflight we can loot, gather, interact with NPC and other world elements using L1. I tried to aim at everything using the crosshair at first, it was a pain. Check the various keybind combo you can do to open up bags and stuff with one click. There some downside, like using the auction house(ingame keyboard does'nt popup even if the option is turned on) or selecting a specific enemy while in combat is almost impossible, but i'm still discovering functionnalities, hopefuly there's something for that!
I can't seem to figure this out.. I just bought a Legion Go and I am trying to put my target nearest enemy like you have done but I can't seem to get it. How did you do it?
In your menu controls> binding>targeting and then there's a bunch of different targeting options. Bind target nearest enemy to one of your bumpers by clicking the one you want then pressing the button on your controller. Or in your case on your bumper.

So would love a sample of how to set up my controller with skills. I feel totally new again since I haven't played in so long so like a sample of how you would set yours up. To me would seem skills with shortest cooldown on initial buttons then longer cooldowns on next. Something like that
I just started playing WoW again since Ingot ansteam deck. Console port works great with the steam deck, especially with thebtouch pads and 4 extra rear buttons. I use my right touchpad as a mouse with the right rear buttons being left and right click for when a mouse is better and I have the left touchpad setup as a command wheel so I can open bags/maps/quest log/character pane etc.
I usually manually replace it on the crosshairs. Which is annoying but, if it just snapped back it would be frustrating using the mount for a few seconds at a time
Yes I play mythics on controller and honestly the game plays really well. The biggest obstacle is muscle memory for keyboards. Similar things go in similar places. And I try to organize or categorize abilities in a way that's intuitive to me. need healing? That's left trigger dpad, defensive or utilities is right trigger. Also, you should still have a m and keyboard handy for messaging players or sometimes just navigating menus.
I played FF14 on controller for years as a main tank and it had significantly more buttons than many of Wows classes. I think the hardest parts is getting used to it. Once you do, it will be second nature and just as competitive as a keyboard and mouse. Just don't get frustrated and give up because it will feel foreign to you. Good luck friend.
I find this to be VERY interesting! I don't feel I could go to controller after a life playing this game, but the option is amazing! I would like to see how effective it can be in skillful hands! I tried the controller in Lost Ark and had fun with it, but I couldn't get no where near as effective as I could on m&kb. Cheers!

@@michaelg5793 you might be able to. The way the button mapping works your triggers are technically shift, and and Ctrl . Left trigger, right trigger and both triggers

@@TotalSunBroGaming I did. It did not work. I ended up finding it though. It was analog movement. I think the update clicked it on. Just had to click off of it.
There might be an easy loot addon that does it. I just click the enemies. You can adjust your "targeting" in the settings for console port. You should set it to cone and that should give you some leeway
Melee classes lend themselves really well. But as long as you map the appropriate targeting buttons you can play any class. I plan on making guides for every class with recommended setup for each one
Love consoleport, having an issue with dragon riding though. Any advice on how to disable the left stick while flying or something similar. It’s the only limitation I’ve run into so far. Very hard to maintain forward flying while trying to look off to left or right.
I use the ingame controller support and it works great also, pushing high mythic keys with my fury warrior feels way better for me than with mouse ande keybord 😊

I know that I am a psychopath for this. But I play blood DK in pvp with a controller............ I have been stomping. I keep trying to tell ppl how great it is. They think I'm nuts. I also tank dungeons and raids this way.

But I will be switching to a PS5 controller for the touch pad. I also watched a couple good guides on TH-cam. It took me hours on the initial setup probably. Then tweaks as I went.
Hello, do you know if the macro for instant cast of ground targeting abilities work with console port? Because im trying this macro: "/cast [@cursor] skill name" but it is not working. It might be that the crosshair is not see as cursor maybe? I dont know why its not working
Yeah so with console port when you cast a ground ability your right joystick turns into the area of effect circle on the ground. I'll have to tool around with it to see
This is a great question. I don't however you easily could. The console port just maps abilities to your controller buttons so for busier classes or ranged magic you could absolutely set up macros to help
Hello Sunbro, ic have a Problem with Console Port and maybe you can help me. I want to navigat through the menu the the D-Pad - but i Cant. I f press START the i can navigate trought Character, Game, Contacts and Settings with the D-Pad. But whe i got to SYSTEM (Example) then i cant use the D-Pad. Ma Character is using the bindet Skills when i press the D-Pad and i have to navigate with my analog stick throught the menu instead of the D-Pad. Do yout know how i can fix that? Btw - Great Video

Yeah I never played wow because mainly I don't like MMOs but mostly cause I hate Kb/M but now I can play controller I might give it a try lmao. Just bring WoW to console would be so much better... I have all the consoles and a PC but mainly 99% of the time I'm gaming on my XSX.

Many videos configuring, what can be used, this and that... but then you don't see people doing pvp, doing bgs, doing arenas... some lost video out there... So it gives the feeling that it's not viable or is it a mirage, because if it were so interesting, there would be many more people using it... It is true that using the mouse and keyboard must be enough and that's how it started but many times after spending hours it can bother your wrist, arm, the neck etc... I understand that it is complicated, but I insist, it has been around for several years and there are hardly any videos of people using it... this is food for thought, don't you think?
I can make those videos but, it'll really just be a let's play. Once everything's mapped and your comfortable with your bindings it's not really any different.

However my point is that I would like to find videos of real gameplay using the joystick in pvp, for example, and you hardly find anything exceptional... I'm not saying that it's not viable, maybe I found a fun and lethal way to win playing with pad, but since there are no examples I don't consider myself to be such an expert in paving the way with that, if not, I would try it .

yeah there are binds for it. It's easier to just use your mouse wheel for 2 seconds though

I feel competitive with controller. For me personally it's easier but it's an entirely different experience for someone used to mnk

You could use modifiers in macros for this too right? For example, set L2 as Shift/Ctrl/Alt?

Left joystick should be movement right is camera. You should automattically strafe after targeting an enemy

In console port go on and select the controller you're using, it'll tailor the UI to your input

You just use your mouse or there's an option in the menus to allow to to freely move the cursor, I don't recommend that though

Far right tab under your console port interface should allow you to unlock and move around
I still miss when this addon had native Steam Controller support, and it had two extra buttons for the grip buttons on the back.

Sensitivity feels hella high on dragon riding you've gotta kinda just get used to to it.

its a binding you've adjusted. reset your console port back to "default" and it should fix it. I have had it happen to me

The options for menu navigation might be nestled down on settings or binding for console port

Go to bindings>movement>jump> and you should be able to change the binding I use L3

Just use curseforge. It's a trusted installer and it allows you to manage everything in one place without the headache
By doing it on curse forge it is so easy. Just look that you have retail addon if you are playing retail and not classic. Rest is history
