BSA made a quality gun that sold at a competitive price, this eroded other Birmingham makers sales, they criticized BSA as being machine made, to this day the attitude has not changed. BSA made range models and engraving styles, I have seen BSA with beautiful scroll with colour case hardening. I own several BSA from a light weight game gun 30" 1250 grm barrels to a BSA wildfowler 30" 3" mag 1 1/2oz F&F 1600 grm barrels. BSA barrels(chopper lump) where made from high quality crome nickel moly steel, very resistant to rust and pitting.
i have 4 of these , i think they are a super gun and under rated in the uk you can pick them up from £20 at auction, my most recent was an ejector in excellent condition with bright and clean bores and carries a wilkinson pall mall retailers mark to the top rib and it cost me £126 with fees at auction a super gun and a good way to get a quality side by side for very little money !!!
