Ducati 748, Open Road, Sunshine, Chips!.. Lovely..
Still a classic. 2001 748 (Yellow) owner Colorado, USA.
That's exactly the problem I had with my TL1000S,it ran intermittently on one cylinder for years, after going through everything over years of this problem checking wiring etc after one winter lay up it wouldn't start and was throwing a fault code for the C.P.S. which unfortunately came as part of the alternator stator and wiring making it crazy money Replaced it and it ran perfectly, after all those years of misery!!
Hopefully something simple on mine, as you mention electrical gremlins are a real headache 🤦♂️
It’s going to be getting stripped down in the coming weeks
Great video! Just made me miss my yellow 996s I had back in the mid noughties.
Thanks & lovely 😎
You can use standard micro switches for the front brake on Brembos. Just solder onto the existing cables.
The effect on the inside looks similar to what happens when superglue gets hot.
Let’s see how long the repair holds up 👍😅
Che spectacalo....love the yellow colour of the 90's Ducati. It's nice to see the sun out for your ride, too fully sick, mate
😎👍
Love it. My brother has a 1997 748 BP, owned from new ......
Bloody great video!😋👍... and such a classic bike, achingly beautiful and iconic.... thanks for the trip down memory lane, took me back to the mid/late 90s omg I used to lust after one of these soooo hard☺️😋... great channel, thanks again 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed 😎👍
Exactly mate im guessing this ones a keeper now 😁 its same with my m3 at the minute 🙈🤪
She a beauty ❤
Thanks 😎👍
I have had my own 748s 2002 model for 4 years, and have done the belts twice already, current set is 2.5 yrs old, but have only done prob 1500 miles....i dont ride in winter but do run it up regularly. at 150 quid a set and as old ones came off looking like new, i have decided to let them go to 3 years..... like you say, im not a GP rider..
I’ve gone to 3 year cycles on the belts too 👍
Lovely shaped bike, too un- comfy for me but the access for maintenence looks excellent. Top video as always 👏🏻👍🏻🇮🇪
I question why I ride it sometimes with the comfort 😅👍
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video
Great video lovely bike mate cant beat abit of old skool ☺
Cheers mate, doesn’t come out often but special when she does 😎
The misfiring might be plugs coils, leads? The crank position sensors can be intermittent, but normally go out once the engine is hot. It looks similar to what’s on my 90 Laverda 650, and 750, I think there’s a 2 and 3 pin version, one is the same as a Fiat, Lancia Delta Integrale, I don’t know if you have a 2 or 3 pin on those. A lot of similar parts are shared on 90s Italian bikes, so looking elsewhere can sometimes save a premium you pay for gen Ducati parts, when most are used elsewhere, eg, the throttle position sensor on my Laverda 650 Formul (and other 90s Laverda) is the same as a Sierra Cosworth, as it also uses Weber Marelli injection.
The starter solenoid and regulator are shared on the Ducati and Laverda, and not very reliable. The 12v feed in on the small plug for the solenoid works its way out…cable tie…
Best of luck sorting it out, I know how 90s Italian electrics are, , I have 3 Laverda to keep working……
Thanks and good to know, shall try the plugs next (they haven’t done many miles but are getting on for a few years)
Love the look of that bike
Doesn’t get better 😎👍
Great video! Whats the backpack you have please?
Thanks 👍😎
It’s an XL moto, cheap as chips and last years! Would replace instantly if it failed (link below)

The 748/916's have always been my favorite bikes (i blame Carl Fogarty) 😅
Such an iconic shape 😎
Don't be trying to put me off getting one saying it's an uncomfortable ride 😂
@@BaldBloke fair play to anyone that finds them comfortable 😅
Surely you can get a nice aftermarket pad if you wanna treat your arse 😂
It’s the wrists 🥴😅
@@stoneautomotive ahem, awkward 🤣
@@BaldBloke 😅
Nice one.
Thanks!
Did you have to replace the timing belts before you took it out on the road?
Done two years ago so close 👀
@@stoneautomotive will you be getting them done anytime soon, my 1098 has been off the road for almost the same amount of time 🤦♂️
@@RollinThundervlogs heard from people in the know the later Kevlar ones can do 3+ years
Coooool !
😎👍
Brave taking that out on 2 + year old belts
Word on the street is the Kevlar Ducati belts do 3+ years with no issue 👀
@@stoneautomotive if its been started regular then yes but left unstarted for 2+ years i still say very brave to chance it. i changed mine every 2 years if it moved or not and used dayco belts
@@craigcamb5598 it gets started every 4-6 months (can be confirmed as seen in the RSV series on the channel and my TH-cam shorts on the channel 👍
🏍👍👍👍
got to get my hands on one of these things. this channel doesn't help
Haha sorry not sorry 😅👍
First😂
