This is really cool. All the railroads had were steamers when I was a boy. In the hollers of West Virginia we would lay out at night and listen and wonder what it would be like when we grew up. There was all kinds of whistles back then with the C&O and the N&W so close to each other we could hear them all. Thanks for the memories.
That’s really cool! Glad I was able to bring those memories back; only wish I could’ve experienced a time when those railroads were active. Very grateful for everything that is still running though!
Fond memories of Sunday Only fantrips behind Burlington’s 05B in your videos of PA & NE’s Pacific and again on their Northern. Wonder who saved the CB&Q 5-chime whistle…a beautiful sound to my ears…heartfelt nostalgia but the real deal. Thanks for that.
Nostalgia is one of the coolest things I think we can experience; as far as the CB&Q 5-chime, I believe it is owned by the Fredrickson family, who are very prominent with the R&N steam crew
Wait till yall hear that Boston & Maine of Andy's (was the late Fritz RIP) on 2102!! She hasn't wore it since 1990! I've been joking around with the crew that on 1 trip they should have 1 PRR and 1 Reading Chime and on another 2 different Reading chimes. Just for fun! I
1309 with that Hooter whistle honestly makes it sound like N&W 1218 is back on the rails, I wonder since 1309 has had both K4 #1361 and T1 #5550’s (two locomotives soon to return to the rails) whistle that this means 1218 may come back into service.

Love the Southern 3 chime that 425 is heard with in one of the last clips of volume 1
That shop made hooter for Climax #9 is one of the best hooter whistles I’ve ever heard.
I really liked it too! Wish I would’ve won it, there was a raffle competition for someone to win it but unfortunately I was not the winner
Awesome! Lots of good whistles In there!
Thanks!

I Love the B&M 6 chime for NYC Hudson 5406.
