I had one of the mirror shells blow right off the truck last winter in high cross winds up in Quebec. Other than that the KW T-680 has been one of my favorite trucks to drive. Very spacious, great ride, and a real pleasure to drive.
Right on! That sounds like a crazy storm you were in.
The Kenworth Guy high winds running up there in the Quebec prairie lands are fairly common especially in winter, but that day was particularly bad! That KW bombed through it and got me home though!

I'm picking one of these up next week. Used but new to me. 2019. I am super excited even though it's 4 yrs old. I've actually never driven a Kenworth and look forward to owning one. Thanks for the video, you did a great job.😎
The 2020 Pete is giving the Kenworth a run for its money as far as the sleeper unit but motor is a lot louder then the paccar motor 455 hp but with the windows up you cant hardly hear the motor noise, but then again some drivers have gotten so used to engine noise they cant sleep without that motor running. Plus the Pete has a ladder for the top bunk, but over i love both trucks very nice video.

Kenworth and Peterbuilt are owned by Paccar. Look at any new Pete or KW same exact truck different badges few other tidbits but same truck
Btw I drive s 2019 T680 had no problems at all.
My company replaces our trucks every four years or 350k which ever is first.
They get Cummins in them. All the niceties too makes life easier when I’m out for 4 weeks or so at a time

Really like to see a side by side comparison of the T680 and T880. To me they look like the same truck. I thought you had covered this before in another video, but I could not find the video on your TH-cam page. In truck stops always doing a double take to see which is which. I know there is a slight difference in the front fenders and the grill but have never seen two of them side by side to really check. I keep thinking they are basically the same truck. With the old T600 and the T200 and T800 there were obvious differences. Then the T600 became the T660, which I like, and the T2000 became the T880 and the T660 became the T680........I think. Just confused. If any one knows the facts about this, I know you will. You always have the facts and clarify issues about Kenworth Trucks. Thank you for your videos and passion for Kenworth. Have won a few bar bets using your data about KW trucks. Thanks Andy and once again awesome stuff and lots of "REAL" data that makes sense and explains things about these KW trucks. i drive a T880 day cab, i haul milk locally. i think the difference is the T880 is more for vocational work and the T680 is more of an over the road long haul truck

I’ve got an option between the new Volvo or the new Kenworth at my company and I’m torn in which one to go with. How is the seating position in the Kenworth? Can you see much of the hood once you’ve adjusted your seat to a comfortable driving position? I’m in a 2019 Freightliner right now and I cannot get the seat comfortable for the life of me. The ride quality on the Freightliner is also atrocious. It’s truly violent when I go over even a minimal rough surface. It feels like someone is shoving me in the back as hard as they can. How’s the ride quality on your KW? Thanks in advance!
Best way to judge the ride is to take one for a road test. I think the T680 rides very smooth.

Airtight cab? Cold air pours in through the doors on my 2016 T680. Oh, and the HVAC system SUX! there is ALWAYS something wrong with it
The 2004 Peterbilt we had before this had 0 problems. We got this truck and it's always going to the shop, always costing us more money.

We have those air vents on the back of the cab on our T610 & T610SAR over here in Australia and they let so much dust into the cab

Seems someone forgot to inform kenworth that we take 10hr breaks. So we get 8hrs of battery and then 2hrs of nothing.

Uh... split your time 2 and 8 or get your ass up after 8 off sleeping and start the truck or go inside and wash your ass and get some coffee for the last 2 hours
Its like that on my pete also only 8hrs but thats enough for me ill run the truck for another 1hr after I go to sleeper mode while I'm chillin n turn the truck off turn on the heater n go to sleep n wen Its time to go my 10hrs is up n the 8hrs of heating just turned off so I know its time to get up warm the truck up n roll out
For the ones saying wash your ass your fucking stupid. You can turn it on cook eat take a shower and use the last 2hrs to sleep. It isn't about managing your time its about some of us don't spend hours inside a truck stop. Some us don't go in unless we need to. I find the 8hrs about as useful as wiping your ass before you shit. To be honest it should stay on until I turn it off. If I have a 36hr in freezing cold that 8hr is fucking useless. Everyone so quick to point out faults with how people drive. If I'm taking a 36 and got stuck at a rest area I shouldn't have to keep turning the system on and off or im stuck with a dead truck. You can't split a 36 so 🤷

That is a stupid combo for that transmission to have a 3.25 ratio on it unless it’s going to always be pulling max weight
For better mpg a 2.79 is way better on the 455

Haters gonna hate. I love mine. Best riding truck I've ever been in. Just wanted to point out a frequently overlooked fact, regardless of model you can get a lemon in any brand no matter what. If you take a group of any 20 identical models 10 or more will be problematic, while the other 10 will be relatively reliable. That's just the luck of the draw.
I love my Kenworth
No surprise there was a wrecker in the parking lot. Get used to it with a T680, especially with a MX engine.

Never....I mean NEVER buy a truck that has a Paccar engine unless you have nothing but money to throw away.
I made sure I got a Cummins in mine.
Cummins has been a very good engine. The X15 is great. So is the MX13

Beautiful truck..I'd only change a couple things, the engine being one of those things..but really nice!
We do offer Cummins which is quite popular too. For OTR the Paccar is the preferred choice though.

Kenworth T680 next gen truck
Get many request to stretch the frame to put a 25-30’ reefer box on a T680. My T440 with a 40” bunk is kinda small lol. Would be in heaven with this lol
You would have to be under 41’ overall to be legal. I’ve built hot shot trucks before and the max bunk size that would work is about 40” with a 30’ box.

Love the plugs, but to basic for the luxury trucks thats out now. XM radio should be standard by now...nice, bur if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a new truck i want to be impressed...Volvo's vln impressed me, made me feel like I'm getting bang for my bucks

Why mount those light on the outside of the air deflector, cause drag, should mount them on the inside behind the back of the cab, and it looks way more nice...
They are on the outside so the operator can see the side of the trailer at night when backing up.
Skip to 3.47 min in, for the t680. P.o.s. w9 & p.o.s. 379 Pete will waste almost the first 3.75 minutes of your time.

pull out drawer fridge are the worst a waste of space for getting as much food in there as possible, nice idea but not efficient where an inch by inch living space is absolutely critical
For all your beverages and snack needs this pull out fridge is handier than a shirt pocket. - JG

Looks very old technology truck. Nothing modern
That's what I was thinking. The headlights are the worst! No LED lights in the whole truck? No USB ports except in the radio? Absolutely worthless storage. And that engine is garbage.
Other than that, I like the looks of the truck on the outside.
I like the good old gages style. My only bad point about this truck is the automatic transmission. I prefer a good old manual transmission where i can control the power of my truck.
Automatic transmissions sure make for an easy drive. I sell quite a few automatic transmissions to 30+ veteran drivers
Each to their own. We build them both ways.
Truck is custom ordered as he States several times but yes the truck is incredibly barren for what it is.

Why don't truck companies build truck with built in apu because they don't want us to idle our trucks at night when it's cold. They have never been to montana or idaho. Bunk heater won't do cap against that

That next truck that you're gonna be doing a video on is gonna need a bath. Think you said it was a Burgundy color. That's the downside to getting trucks in the winter, there subject to the salts and sand that they use to treat the roads.

I had one as a rental. Terrible fit and finish for 2 years old. No power from the Cummins. Worst automatic transmission possible. Couldn’t give it back fast enough! My Cascadia with a Detroit and 13 speed is superior and it’s 7 years old.
