Caleb's sister, Ruth Cooper, widow of Henry Atlas Dearth, died of heart failure in a convalescent home in Virginia Beach. Don't know if she had children, but Caleb was survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild (as of 1961). Perhaps some of them are sill living and tending to the family cemetery you found. And my educated guess is that baby boy is the son of Caleb and his wife, Mary Alberta/Albertha (Fooks) Cooper. Also, there is a biography on Find-A-Grave website for Rear Admiral Joshua Winfred Cooper. What an interesting family!
Lovely old home and cemetery. A family once lived and laughed there. Just a mention, the little small gravestones that are that size, are most likely a foot stone placed at the foot of the grave. Most of the time they show the initials only of the person buried there.
Nice Video. Interesting to see, that there was a family grave yard there. I love walking through cemeteries and take pictures and videos. It is interesting to see, what kind of people that lived there before us !
The tiny stone marker is called a footstone. It is used to mark the end of the grave so that if someone is buried opposite of it in the future, the grave digger knows where the previous burial is so that they don't accidentally bump into the casket. Happens alot in older cemeteries, especially where there are unmarked graves.
Wow I love these old homes I always think about what kind of families lived there and how it was back in the day..i want to explore but haven't got anyone to go with I don't live to far from Surry I live in Gates county nc keep up the awesome. Videos
And one more tidbit. A photograph of Caleb's now deceased daughter, Charlotte Milenna (Cooper) Young can be found on page 28 in the 1920 Yearbook of Wicomico High School, Salisbury, Maryland. She was very pretty.
As an Australian, I find buildings this old so wild, my country barley existed at this point and you really don't find many buildings that aren't the grand sort still in tact from that time.
KitschyTravels northern Virginia is supposedly the sweetspot along the east coast from what I hear. will be posting a video soon of the old Virginia Renaissance faire I explored yesterday. there's also an insane asylum in Petersburg to see if you're ever around that area. goodluck!
My extended family lives on their family plantation property in GA. The big house is in serious disrepair but all the slave quarters are in perfect shape because they were constructed with thick full beams. Also in Charleston you can find old slave houses with people still living in them.
It is interesting that that place is so much more intact at attic stair & roof level. Unless there has been a flood, or herds of animals in there can only assume that the local morons have been in breaking up the lower floors instead of enjoying seeing an interesting piece of local history.

It's amazing how clean the attic staircases compared to all the the rubble throughout the other part of the house

was that a flying saucer
Is no one going to mention the flying saucer in the first room?
Debunked as a reflection off of a big circular piece of metal.
3:48 good call not having the behemoth go upstairs and collapse the second story
102Help that’s rude

Well done
nice area.
I think it's the Rimshaw house. Old man Rimshaw put his hired hand in chains and then done away with him, with an ax.
That was a nice home till you ripped out the screen
