    The best thing about the SL2 is that you can now get the SL at affordable prices.😅

    Thanks for talking about the SL2! I'm a big fan of the M cameras and now also the SL cameras!
    Yup, I "always wear a camera" but I also "always have no money" 🤣. It's okay though, the pleasure of shooting Leicas and the amazing photos made from it is totally worth it! Keep the videos coming Lord Thor!

    The capacity of this camera to use so many old and new lenses so easily makes it a great system just like Nikon

    I guess someone interested in M lenses would probably go for the M10-R. I trying to understand the point of putting manual focus lens on autofocus camera. what would be the quality differences between the SL2 and M10-R in your opinion. Thanks for the great videos.

    Thorsten for a few minutes you had me very confused because of your pronunciation of 'Auto-Focus', which because of your Danish accent you sound like you're saying "Out of focus". No seriously I have seen your work which is AMAZING, thus respect you

      AF will do fine in most of the situations and will be fast enough too. Only when it is less constant is with C-AF sometimes. Good enough for most photography situation, including action. But C-AF for video can be less reliable.

    Thorsten, I respect you for a lot of your work, but to say Leica was the first to come out with a mirrorless camera is absolutely false. Sony and Olympus were the first mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses, going back to 2010. Sony, Olympus and Fujifilm have been in the mirrorless camera business for over a decade now, and Sony is the worldwide leader in mirrorless, in a league of its own.
    Since the original NEX, Sony has come out with the NEX-5, NEX-5N, NEX-7, 6000, etc. cameras with APS-C sensors, and A7, A7R, A7S, A9 and A1 cameras in full frame. Except for the new A1, all the other cameras have had at least two and in the case of the A7R, four generations. The Sony A1 is the best 35mm camera ever made, according to most people. I believe the Sony A7R IV (FOURTH generation!) with 61 MP was out even before Panasonic came out with its S1H and S1R cameras, which Leica then later re-packaged as the SL and SL2, respectively. Let's not forget that behind the Leica facade, it is a Panasonic camera.
    So to say Leica was the first to the market with a mirrorless camera, and then Canon, Nikon and Fuji followed, and to not even mention Sony, which is today the co-market leader in photography along with Canon, is preposterous, irresponsible, and insulting to Sony and Sony's customers. My question is simply this: were you saying that out of ignorance, or were you deliberately lying? I hope it was ignorance. I think you are better than this. I suggest you take the high road and acknowledge the mistake. I believe that would be the classy thing to do. Regards.

    Hi, Thorsten,
    there is one question ... Cameras like the M10 are specially made for the M-lenses. So the sensor-glas is thin etc.
    If you for example adapt Leica M-lenses to a Sony camera, the sides and corners of the pictures can become rather poor.
    Is the sensor of the SL2 in terms of compatibility to M-lenses comperable to the new Lica M10 or M10-r?
    In that case the SL2 can be interesting for those who habe already serveral M-lenses.

      The SL2 and SL are optimized for M lenses as well, which can't be said for TL, CL and so on - and of course Fuji, etc other brands.

    • @孫振新
      @孫振新 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I have the same question, M10 had special micro-lens on top of the CMOS sensor to capture the oblique rays angled towards the corners due to the short flange distance in the M body. Do you know if the SL/SL2 sensor have such microlens for the M lenses? Or it's not necessary? Thanks!

    Hello.Thanks for your presentation. I would buy a SL2S. I would use my M Lens (i have also a M10P) but i hesitate between the adaptator Leica ring or the Novoflex (half price). What do your think? Is it a réal difference between the both? Thanks for your respons.

    Leica is fifth one which copy idea from Panasonic,Olympus,Sony and Fujifilm to remove the mirror.

    • @MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard
      @MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well, the original Leica M is mirrorless since 1925 if you want. But the point is not the mirror but the L-mount that places the lenses at that distance from the sensor, AND the size of the bayonet that allow for "almost any design you can think of" without making the camera huge. Hence, the L lenses also fits on the CL, TL and other smaller cameras with crop sensors.

    Question: Using R Lenses on the SL2 what about the editing in lightroom? is there a chance of lens detection by the software? like the 6bit codes on M lenses? i m looking for the sl2 beside my m10 but not looking for troubble while editing and lens corrections by hand. thx and enjoy life.
