    Ford knocked it out of the ballpark again. He has unique way of doing things never thought of.

    Thank you for the video. Doing a loop and then have one strand for each direction is actually pretty cool idea!

    I had never seen the tip of separating the two strands and going in different directions. Very helpful. Also, the rise over run...awesome! I'll be implementing those from now on. Thank you!

    This is so helpful. Thank you! It was also wildly entertaining for my goofy cat, who tried *very* hard to catch that thread sliding across the screen 😂

    Fantastic tips - thanks! I've been backstitching 'wrong' for years! I don't always go backwards at all.

    What a helpful tip about slopes!
    Is it possible in the future to do a video about the parking method? I find it confusing, especially how the back will look. I have the CCS bakery and flower shop and want to try the parking method, but too scared 🙈😞

    • @SonovaStitch
      @SonovaStitch 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't actually ever done Parking, but maybe we can learn together! I guess "Parking" is kinda what I'm doing with these loop start backstitch techniques, though.

      @SWEETDFAN17 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @SonovaStitch I know Marie did a parking method for CCS last year. It was a good video, but I didn't fully understand because she didn't shoe the back side. I've watched non CCS videos on parking and it has me more confused 😵‍💫 I'm willing to learn together!
      By the way, love how you called this video Baby Got Backstitch...I know every single word to Baby Got Back but will now sing it differently 🤣

      Oh, I think I messed that up. I re-recorded the audio for that section because it wasn't very clear. I must have accidentally left both audio tracks there. Sorry that's so confusing!

    My algebra teacher was right thanks Ford you are great. A question I have is why do designers not use the center line of a design as a grid it's always off . I've given up using the center to start my projects I just go to the design figure out 2 inches off of the left side and start the pattern.

    • @CaterpillarCrossStitch
      @CaterpillarCrossStitch  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! At Caterpillar Cross Stitch, we recommend folding the fabric in half and half again to find the middle. Then correspond this with the middle of the pattern (see where the red lines cross). Follow the design from the centre point using the correct colour thread from the key. Each symbol on the pattern represents one cross stitch.

    • @SonovaStitch
      @SonovaStitch 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I'm understanding your question right, it's probably because in order for the center point of a pattern to fall on a bolded grid line, the chart would always have to be an even number of stitches both tall and wide, and not only that, but a multiple of 20 stitches tall and wide. If my design were, say, 23 stitches wide, in order for the center line to fall on a bolded line, I'd have to make the overall grid 40 stitches wide total, and my center would still be half a stitch off from there. Does that make sense? The only other way would be for the chart to count out from the center, but then that would mean a chart that was 50 stitches x 50 stitches, the stitch in the top left corner would be -25,25 instead of the usual 1,1.

    I hope you’re going to cover backstitching curves. I’m doing a Nora Corbett and I have three big swooping curves I can’t seem to make look lovely and swoops.
