The wave uses 440c steel over 420, they are somewhat similar, however 440 is alloyed with more chromium and carbon which improves the corrosion resistance, tensile strength and hardness, meaning itll have a harder time rusting, won’t deform as easily if dropped and it also helps to hold an edge if you sharpen it
Tip for the wave , since it has 1 sided hardware , keep in mind which handle has the flat or screwhole , i see ur a right handed flipper keep in mind when its closed with the screwholes facing you that the right handle is the bite handle and when its closed w the flat sides of the screw facing you that the right handle is the safe handle. This is how i learned to tell what handle is which cause i had a live blade falcon and its hard to tell which side is the bite side so the hardware helped me keep track of them without having to check before flipping
I sharpened one of my waves with a wicked edge sharpener, the tip took forever to make it meet in the middle and there is no point on it. Just round. The bevels near the front are also huge. I love the idea of a sharpenable trainer, but I don’t understand why the tip was left so thick
You could sharpen that tip, but the resulting bevel would probably be very huge and ugly (or might end up looking like a strange modified tanto). An alternative would be to take a belt sander to it and thin out that tip grind, but that would either require some grinding skill or end up looking sloppy and ugly.
I've been interested in them for a while but I haven't gotten to try a knife from them. My friend purchased a Kirat from them and he says its really good though
the main point of a trainer LEGALLY and practically is that you CAN'T sharpen the blade, why trainers are legal in most states where live blades are illegal. the wave is literally a crime
Some time on a belt sander and 10-15 minutes with a sharpening stone and the vulp is sharp. The wave would require less time. Granted, the vulp probably wouldn't hold an edge for any length of time (the wave either, but it should be better), but it can be sharpened.
@@VeritasNous the cutouts on a trainer are there so the blade dosn't have enough physical material to be sharpened, you can try to sharpen trainers, but it'll destroy the bali
@@lexar4035 There's definitely enough material on the vulp to create a primary and secondary bevel. It would not result in a good knife, of course, but it's doable.
The wave could potentially be sharpened to hold an edge which could possibly classify as a live blade. Basically just do your own research to make sure beforehand!
I live in California. You can legally own live blade balisongs but they cannot leave your house or carry them on you. As for the wave, technically it is a trainer but I wouldn't flip it in public as it may be a possession of a dull weapon charge. But besides that u can buy it :)

Actually cheered out loud when you pressed the button
YOU NOTICED!!!!
Man I got angry when you opened the drawer the first time and didn't press it

Great comparison!
so fr
the blade of the vulp is beautiful, and then we have the Wave.
Yeah the wave is really weird
Idk I personally like the blade shape, to me it looks like a mix of a bunch of blades together. ArtSea did say it would be subjective though 😂
@@St1llor 100% agreed
I love the shape because it looks like the butterfly knife from the tf2 spy
Thanks for the video! Just bought the Vulp :)
Amazing video, I was very surprised after I watched the whole vid then exited and saw 300 views
Thanks dude!

Legal reasons
I heard the newer batches of the wave should have better pivots now but not sure
I like the fact the wave found a loophole which is the funniest shit ever
Solid video. Thanks!

Would also make the balance a bit iffy as that giant tip is what makes the balance feel just like a tanto kraken
@@acesplays4078 I hadn't thought of that. Might be!
Nut.
max nut
@@WhuDhat Yes
Surprised bc my vulp got tap 6 hours after i got it while the wave ive had since last week and still no tap. Honestly i think it’s a nabalis issue
the vawe and the vlup
Dad?
Have you tried atropos I really wanna hear your opinion on em

She made a mistake making the wave limited quantities. I would have bought both but since hers is sold out i bought 2 vulps lol
The vulp is better
That Wave blade is hella ugly.

I’m in cali so I doubt I can own it
They are both trainers so you can own either of them legally
