The run is still as impressive as ever. Definitely a fun one to revisit. It really is badass that you were able to pull off this whole concept. Both you and David deserve major props. Hoping a lot more people will get exposed to these videos now!
20:34 that whole stretch was insane! (The whole thing is actually) Nicely done, congrats on not beating a world record but actually setting one! -Jason
@MarMaxGaming np Jeff, I came back to add: I've not only never beat NG but I've never watched a full playthrough, or even seen the second level for that matter--until this video where you did it running. 😆👏 I love it and it was fun to watch, and it actually makes me want to play the game. It's looks great
@@Tinnsfr thank you very much! There’s a couple more of these too; like Contra without the Konami code and Battletoads. For trying ninja gaiden, you’ll have fun with it for sure but it’s a classic rage nes game as well… knock back from enemies near ledges lead to a lot of deaths, and the worst thing of all is ANY death against those final bosses sends you to 6-1. And 6-2 has a very weird section that can seem impossible if you don’t know how to do all those jumps with enemies. These are the biggest reasons why ninja gaiden sadly remains unbeatable for so many players! But it has some great replay value when you know how it all works!
@@MarMaxGaming I'm sure. Ninja Gaiden is difficult enough as is, without doing anything to make it even harder. I just saw this randomly recommended to me on TH-cam, imagined all the ways this could be excessively challenging, and thought, "This will be great for a quick laugh, while the player fumbles around to make any sort of progress under these conditions."
@@gurvmlk I’m glad to hear it was recommended to you! I had to practice a lot for this, and went on runs to get in shape for it… the portable battery lasts an hour, I wanted to do my best to finish it before we lost power and it ended up overall being pretty smooth! I was extremely scared of the 2nd form last boss because it sends you back to 6-1, and that happened to me a few times in a row when we did a practice run of this a couple days before this much better attempt!
@@MarMaxGaming There's no denying that the home stretch of Ninja Gaiden is mercilessly brutal, even by NES standards. Made no easier by that one infamous screen in 6-2. That can be especially a pain to have to get through again every time you happen to lose against the boss; assuming you don't just despawn the guy standing on that tiny platform. Fortunately, for all the crap Ninja Gaiden gets for its difficulty, the entire game is brilliantly designed. Every screen has a very distinct and reliable solution, and the game rewards fluidity of motion over hesitation above all else. Once you discover a screen's solution, and can approach it with confidence, the game becomes significantly more manageable, and you learn to appreciate how meticulous the level design and enemy placements really are. Most of the game's challenge comes from how it punishes hesitation, which the game itself is designed to instigate unto the player. This, however, is coming from somebody who has only ever actually beaten it once. I've gotten to the final stage several times, but needing to restart every time I lose to the final boss tends to either drain my motivation, or just cause me to run out of the time I have for the given run.
randomly showed up on my feed, this is really impressive
Running 5k, Beating Ninja Gaiden and talking. I can only do 1 of these at a time. Amazing!
Steamed Sam! What a pleasant surprise, your content is so unique and cool. It means a lot to see your support for this, I appreciate it so much!
@@MarMaxGaming Thanks! I enjoy watching your content because it's authentic and feels like early TH-cam. It's comforting.

I just did a 5k and got 26 minutes and that was without playing an NES. This is crazy lol

@MarMaxGaming awesome, I'll check them out when I get a chance!
You don't just play as a Nina, You ARE the Ninja! Great win. This is like how yo play NES when you're a Donatello, Naruto or Miko Mido.
Heard of running a game, but literally running a game is nuts. Great job
@@Jazzforyoursoull thank you, I really appreciate that a lot! It was a crazy idea and a lot of effort, so I hope more get to see it eventually ❤️🩹

Was definitely hoping for more ridiculous gameplay to result from the likewise nutty idea.
I was honestly thrilled to get through the game during this challenge lol pretty relieved to get through many of the stages
