Excellent video with a great explanation. Quick question regarding the end of the video where you mention about not unscrewing the screws for the top cover, once the roof is repaired should you unscrew them or will it get done automatically when the electrics/hydraulics are all working again?
Awesome video I have not found anybody on the Internet with video instructions! My problem is exactly oposite my roof is stuck in the closed position. Everyone says just to do the opposite, but that doesn’t work. Even Audi dealer is having a hard time for two weeks now.
Hi It's not as simple to open the roof manually as you have to open the fins which are locked via a mechanical cam. However why are they trying to open the roof manually? Is there a process to release the roof when it is stuck closed... I have an issue where the roof doesnt work and its flagging an issue with an open circuit top flap motor... recently had a clutch done at Audi and was working before it went in but they are no help at all. Thanks
Hi Yes there is a way, it's in reverse of the closing procedure but you also need release the fins which is the challenge as the hydraulics go over the resistant point and "lock"
Yeah thats the issue Im having, its my bosses car so couldnt really say no but at the risk of damaging something Im going to have to swerve this one Thanks
@@CabrioletTech Indeed, having an issue with my top not opening. I can release the clamps. After that I tried to release the fins, but the hex is just unscrewing the bolts and not releasing the fins. I did use the top hydraulic release first, but fins are still firmly mounted to to the engine cover
The video is intended for showing you how to close the roof manually, not how to open the roof manually. If there is no fault, then the roof should open on the button As the rear fins are locked down hydraulically and then by a lever mechanism inside the roof frame.
