The major benefit of BC for me is the lack of mental fatigue after driving on long road trips. It's amazing how much of your brain is used for just keeping centered in a lane. I feel like I driver safer, too, because I can pay more attention to my surroundings: other cars, road conditions, and other environmental hazards.

I am so ready for new non-interstate roads to be added to BC! I love it but many roads and major highways in my area not on BC. 😭😭 my commute is 1.5 hours on 2 way traffic. The lane centering keeps interrupting my music and podcasts even when my hands are on the wheel. Constant and so often it makes it a pain point. When in blue zone, it is amazing! Thanks for the great content!

Great video! I'm enjoying BC on my '23 MME, especially since 1.3. One thing I found was that on following distance setting of 3, it seems less agressive overall, and I end up leaving it in that setting. The gap on the highway is a bit much, but the car brakes and accelerate more smoothly. Per the manual, the gap setting does adjust the behavior (1 = Sport, 2-3 = Normal, 4 = Comfort), but on 3 I tend to disconnect it less often, where on 2, the braking and resume get unconfortable after a while.

I'm on BC 1.4 and it's got excellent minor improvements. I really like BC. Use it all over Toronto and Ontario.

It's probably worth mentioning that the BlueCruise capability that you get on a non-mapped road (lane keeping but you have to hold the wheel to apply torque at least every 10 seconds) is there even without a paid subscription.

Great video! That black cloud would have made me delay filming, stay safe.

Great Video! Sometimes, when there is a stiff cross-wind on the road, the BC tends to have issues with the lane centering (it seems to oscillate) - have you seen that?

Thanks! We've owned our Mach E for a month and a half and had no idea actually how to just turn Blue Cruise on! (and, I still don't know how to get it to do regular cruise control instead of adaptive cruise control).

I must really be a fan, I watched this entire video even though I don’t have a Mach-E. My GV60 doesn’t have hands free, but even if I had Blue Cruise I think I’d still always keep touching the wheel. Maybe I’d get used to it. But I really only need to touch it, not steer. It’s so much less stress. I always turn the auto steer on immediately as I leave my driveway and just leave it on always. I do wish the GV60 had the “scooch” feature, that sounds awesome. Maybe someday. On the other hand, the GV60 is super smooth in stop and go traffic, it doesn’t do the hard stops you are describing. Does the Mach-E have a pause/resume button for the cruise? In situations where I want to slow down a bit, instead of dialing down the speed like you did in the video, I just pause it for a few seconds and let the regen slow the car down, then unpause and it smoothly resumes into the flow. Took me a few months to realize this was possible but now I’m really comfortable with the system. Next time we see each other we should compare notes.

Is there an aftermarket or Ford roof shade? Something that can be opened and closed.
Just thinking about here in the Northeast, it does get cold, that is a large window space.

so does BC only apply in those zones mapped by Ford in US? I have a Mach-E but I am in Costa Rica.

My 2021 Mach-E will not automatically change lanes while in Blue Cruise. If i put on the turn signal nothing happens at all

@jeffbader2202 Hi Jeff. After a software upgrade my 2023 began to offer the lane change. I dont find it to be too big of a deal, but it may help with safety.

Nice overview. I love using it but still on the OG 1.0 version over here in my First Edition, so it disengages quite a bit in CA on the 5, pretty much every exit lane. Resigned myself to never getting any newer BC version despite Ford's previous promises...in fact, us job1 cars haven't gotten any OTA updates at all since June 😮‍💨. I think they're trying to make us buy new cars 😀

My BC subscription just expired and I will not renew it. For me it was annoying as it tended to wander within the lane… For now, I can do a better job by hand.

Ford told me that I can subscribe and cancel as needed. Like when I travel for several weeks using the interstate highway system.
