Why do skateparks designers not understand this? All a park really needs is a good, wide and long ledge and a ROUND flatbar! Seems like they can't figure it out here in europe

Newline always gets this wrong. They just jam as many obstacles in as they can even if doesn’t make sense.

@@TylerRaffle92 Yeah the new addition they made in Duncan on the island is so crowded and narrow I can't stand it. Everything doesn't need to be bump to ledge to this and that. Port Alberni (my local) needs a new skatepark so badly and when we finally get one I'm worried it's going to be a newline disaster with too many cooks in the kitchen.

This park looks like a wet dream. Perfect ledges, nice flow, with some good transition spots. The kicker to "transformer" box is a killer idea, too. Literally has all of the stuff I like to skate in a really nice layout.
Moses Itkonen is a legend in skateboarding ! I grew up watching him skate in a lot of video part in the late 90s... 411vm Australian vacation 1997 was one of my favorite cassette tape to watch just before skating with my friends... Good stuff ! Great memories !

Hey Ben, just wanted to pass some words on, recently rolled my ankle semi bad, and have been enjoying your videos highly while recovering
I’m 17, and I know I have a whole lot of time still to skate, but not being able to skate for a week, and presumably another couple days does suck a whole lot
But your content makes me feel better about it, and gives me joy while having to deal with my ankle

I used to live around the corner from Mahon and got to slappy the curbs up top where the video starts when The Lonsdale Plaza was closed. Living in th UK at the Mo, but looks like i'll have to move back to the North Shore when I get back to Canada in the New Year. Thanks for the Awesome Moses Cameo and judging by his Insta more resurfacing etc, has gone on at the entrance to the park.
They are adding more to the park right now and should be done by Christmas. Extending the concrete in the entryway farther up the path and putting slappy curbs on either side. The curb down the bank/hip obstacle that Moses mentioned not being exactly what he wanted due to the roots is going to be a blast.

That used to be a horse shoe pit not that long ago. And before that it was an outdoor pool. That arch detail on the one side of the park is from the old Mahon pool. Thanks for posting!

That ledge looks great but I gotta say that flatbar design is perfect. Round bar without the risk of getting a wheel wedged under the rail and getting pitched. Hope to see more rails like that.
I skate there often and those flatbars are game changers. I feel like every grind/slide locks in super well, I can do certain tricks on the flatbars there that I wouldn't dare try elsewhere.
Awesome fun lil park. Huuuge park opening up down the street from me in Nipomo California in next month or so. Looks gnarly, huge transition pool and lots of rails and hubba. It's been 10+ years in the making trying to get one to this town, luckily I only been here 3 of those years. Nice session enjoyed the talking by Moses at end 💕🤙
Some day I might buy a little piece of property and that section with the ledge is pretty much what I’ve dreamed of having. One end with a decently wide quarter pipe (maybe 20’-25’), a bank wall on the other side, a ledge like that, a small rail, and a small manual pad.
Also, I’ve always been curious why Canadians say Ashphalt when it’s spelled asphalt. At least it’s not as bad as New Zealanders who say Ashfelt.😂
It’s also rad to see Moses. The best FS Noseslide in the game.

Growing up in Saskatchewan, living in Vancouver was always the dream for skating / snowboarding.
I know it's a wonderful park (though I haven't been) but I'm still hurt that Lonsdale is gone. One of the best parks I have ever skated, guess I'm lucky I got to be a regular when I was.

Me and my bro met Moses and Colin at the Art museum on my first skate trip to Vancouver in 1994. Then we hung out with them at New Spot. That was one of the best days of my life. Such good dudes.
