I need you guys to keep up the love for the game! I am actually surprised that hundreds of you share the same opinion, and this proves once again how cool, dedicated and resilient the AION community really is, putting up with many things that we shouldn't, in a game. And most of you had so many nice ideas on how this (ONE) problem can be fixed!

I'm missing this part of AION where you could just explore the game and enjoy questing, sieges with tactics, challenging instances and spend a lot of hours on one of many maps cause YOU chosed to stay there... without feeling exhausted or bored.
Now? Fiew maps focused on PvP. Hyper fast lvling till 65 without spending at least fiew hours on maps 1-60lvl + free gear that alows you to do almost everything till 65lvl.
When we lost this game where you could chose what YOU want to do, instead of doing things that actual AION is pushing you to grind / repeat every day without any funn?

When crafting the new Black manastones there should be a 10% chance to get an All powerful from it and a 5% chance to get a Noble All Powerful.
All Powerful's should drop 1 per day from a solo instance that takes around 15 mins.
Serums should also drop from a solo instance that again takes around 15 mins.
All forms of mana stones should be removed except Composites and the new ones. These should drop everywhere. I would even remove some types of manastones as they are useless.
Arenas, Jmr, Tdred, Runatorium should reward the winner with a random item from the following: Noble All Powerful, All Powerful, Holy Serum. Medals should be given as standard. That way PvP is a viable way to gear up.
+15 should be the cap
Consumables should be purchased from a general goods store and most crafting should be removed at this point unless they improve it.
I know this seems like overkill, and it will 100% never happen, but imagine how much more rewarding this game would be?
Even if they just added tradable ones to the PvP instances that would suffice.

I don't think so, since it's meant to be a PvPvE game, so there is no reason that sort of stuff couldn't be split.
And this is why in Korea enchantment stones cost 100k each while All-Powerful costs 40kk, i agree you are absolutely right, if one needs to have hope to attain good pvp gear and not only that but good pvp accessories there has to be a reliable source. About hero quests i think they are fine with the EXP boost they give us, i think the best way of having a reliant sorc on apes and serums would be crafting. Crafting is slowly dying aswell and this will be able to bring it back and like you said, make them hard. I would totally farm on a daily basis if i knew i could get a serum or an apes from some sort of source that would actually grant me one of those.

They removed the eye of the abyss, they made more and more frustrating PvP areas and now they release bullshit elemental transformations.

I completely share your frustration, Sywo! At this rate of game going downhill more and more people will stop playing and therefore with decreased population we will lack basic consumables. I'm not talking about manastones/APES/Serums etc etc. With the new magical crafting, introduced in 5.1, we need significant amount of basic materials in order to progress with the crafting. That cannot happen with the current population decreasing!!! There are some new items that can be acquired only through crafting and if you dont have the materials to even progress to that level - you cannot compete with the "pay-to-win heroes" that are flooding the Aion shop for serums etc etc. As a cleric (and crafter), I personally am thrilled that there are magic resist wings available for crafting!!! I am thrilled that there are new accessories available for crafting!!! I am thrilled that there is a new challenge in crafting!!! BUT!!! And that's a big BUT - WIth the population going downhill and the game settling up at the bottom of the drain - there are only few reasons for a player to keep going. I can imagine that those reasons will become less and less with time, because i dont see any tendency of improving or a sign from GF that they listen to their playerbase. I hope that soon things will start looking a bit better (because im Aion fanboy as well) and if not - i guess some of us will have to put a cross on the pas 7 years of their lives.

We're all having the same problem. In order to further progress we need serums for accs/feather and apes for gear/weapons.

we farming day and night to get gear we spent our time in the game and in blink of eye everything is destroyed ... it's bad system
my suggestion is if they like destroy system they should put steady stone in the game not in aion shop
steady stone : it's stone if you put in your gear .. your gear not destroyed if you failed to enchant it.
If they would have something like a steady stone , they could just remove this bs system

I just want to point one thing...
We were waiting for 4.7 AND 5.0 uppdates for soo long... With hope that out lovely game AION will keep improving and satisfying us even more. After those comes out many of players was SOO HYPE cause it was something new in game after such time... But I realized just after 2 days the patch comes out thats huge illusion... We got so many things, but true is that for real we got completly nothing ;) Even if it was really huge patch, it doesn't change anything with basic problems caused of previous patches. And it feels so disapointing when you remember good old AION where every player could chose what he want to do AND! he could just go and do it ^^ Now? PvP is love, PvP is life. Even new instances are NOTHING compared to Tiamat Fortres where you have 6 different bosses with totally different paterns, instance was huge and challenging considering gears / lvls / when you had to do it as a newbie.
Also I just want to remind you all that we were waiting over a year for such "big change" [whith changes nothing at all] to a game... but we are getting cash shop uppdate every week ;3
Just a small note, +10 was the limit back in 1.5 when it launched :P
That's why I was even ranting for the Casual players .... in the forums where most of the ignorants disliked my proposal to at least make 1 thing easier. But keeping everything hard.. is even less rewarding for Casuals and your points that I also touched (P2W) aspect makes it even worse. Anyway.. I already quit. :) not worth a cent anymore.

I'm glad you made this video Sywo. I got into Aion partly due to your videos, but I've reached the end of my rope with the game until major changes are made. That's a problem for them, they will lose players and if the bleedout continues a sad day may arrive where EU and maybe even NA Aion is no longer a viable game to continue developing. If they are worried about the increase of All powerfuls dropping ingame would hurt their £££ income from the Cash Shop then I'd say to them to make it Subscription based again, I'd happily pay £4.99 or whatever per month if the game was actually rewarding :/ Good video man and sad times.
I completely agree with you. I've loved the game since launch. The crafting was so appealing, it took forever to level so you had time to understand your class, instances were WAY harder with elites and making groups was a fun process. Ever since it went free to play that's when everything starting going down hill and after that the fast track server and the server merging. You never see anyone rifting or pvping, no one does lower forts, no one does anything but level up to get to the end so quickly. It used to be that the journey was the fun and rewarding part because it took so long and you had time to absorb and enjoy all of the content offered. I came back about 3 weeks ago, started a new character, and leveled to 25 in about 8-10 hours. At launch, it would take that long just to level to 10. Crafting is totally nerfed as well as essencetapping and aethertapping, which used to be such hot money makers. It's turning into every other MMO slowly but surely. It's so hard to watch because it used to be the best game to play.
I played this when it had monthly taxes but can't imagine playing it in its current state for sure
You're Right, i'm on Siel server from NCSoft (NA) and each Tempering Solution is over 500kk, each Omega Stone is 450kk+, each wings +2 or more is around 1billion to 15billions, manastones like "Power +7" around 5 billions + ... and the fkings mobs dont drop it... you can farm 24 hours and receive nothing. We really need a patch with drop change and the Mytic pieces that broke with enchant stone is a joke T_T i broke a +7 mytic pvp.... all from 0 again.

i have been following you for a while.... love your content :) and becouse of you i began just recently to play aion ;) ..but after this video i do not know if i want to keep playing and put in time and effort to get to max level if it will be like you say. that makes me sad and reconcider playing aion.

I started Aion sometime in 2010, had the exact same feeling as you, compared with everything else, yet to find aion clone, left it long back for multitude of reasons, primary being P2W, and now this, hope Revelation Online lives up to the hype.
Sywo, problem is that Gamefraud cut droprates so terribly and don't listen when people say that to them. Droprates on myths/eternals should be higher as on first 3 days after patch untill they started to cut it by 75%. Same with serums on NA/KR they drop like 5 times more often than on GF aion
Do the old enchantment stones still work? I have like 150-200 L110-140 stones, at least 70 black ones.
Yeah they do, supposedly they have a lower success rate then the new fabled ones.
What are they going for now? i got most of them during the event with the boxes in sanctum, and thats quite a long time ago. Not played aion in over a year now.
So true! Yesterday, I wanted to upgrade AC Boots from +5 to +6 that had full manastones and conditioning and they failed. I was like ah okay, it happens, I got around 5 manastones back also. Then, I used up all my AC and BM (that I grinded ever since I started doing abyss quests), converted to AC went to buy new boots, and they failed from +5 to +6 AGAIN. Then I was just mad, wrote in legion can we please do the Whispering Lady Marks quests because I need money badly. We grinded, I sold the marks, bought AC for 50K each from a friend and went to buy the boots again. And just for the sake of enchanting them to +6 I used mighty supplements and they finally fricking succeeded. Otherwise I would have had now zero boots or had to use shitty Atreia Conquerors. What a mess, wasted around 6 hours yesterday to get the same boots back and then +6, my Kinah was gone altogether too.
I really like the game, but I have to totally agree with you...you think they will ever get the hint and change it or carry on?
In Russian region they've installed a mini-patch. From now on, Holy Uprade Serum may drop from some bosses in lvl 66+ instances AND world bosses in Esterra/Nosra 4gameforum.com/threads/605887/
true story , at 4.0-4.5 i was playing only 3 times more than what i am now but i was doing 20+ runa , 20+ rst, 10-15 katas, few sauros, few TFs, 5-10 swbs per week while also doing lots of daily/weekly quests at the same time, now i do 7-8 swbs 0-4 runas and 2-8 adma+lab per week, may be 0-1 LoK 0-2 arkhal(almost 0 quests per week also). rly nothing to get from game with certainty even with insane grind

Sywo... ...also, now i understand *why* NCSoft was so picky when choosing, specifically, October 23rd & 26th to release Aion Patch 5.1 together with tons of gifts and special rewards.
In N.A. (in this exact *same* window time, Revelation Online Open Beta and other games with expansions and new contents officially come as well).
And it is currently having a huge hype train from mmo community. No wonder competitor games choose the same week to hook up their loyal players.

3.0 tbh,3.0 was crap. 1kk ap a day from tia eye? mmm not even op.That's why we have shitty glory/honor points which are kinda hard to obtain and for new players there is no way of getting those points to get 2 star u need to spend atleast 4 months ,im talking about daily sieges/swbs/n sht who has life can't do that shit lol.If tia was never released nothing of this bad shit would have happened.

As Sywo already said we have those ' Hero Trials ' which are so unrewarding. In my opinion we should have 3 quests : 1 Pve based with medal rewards or insignia rewards,the second quest PvP based with allpowerfulls as reward ,and 3rd quest should be based on siege attendance . I think that this will be a better way of rewarding your players and make them more interested with the game content.

With the current patch what scared me most is the fact that nobody is grinding old manastones. One day there won't be any of these anymore so we are stuck with the new ones. :) In KR Aion this isn't problem since they allow botting.

@Sywo : I totally agree with you and that's exactly what people started 'complaining' about a few months after those items got included in the game.
I've never seen an APES/Serum drop in an instanced zone since they were added to the game, just because they have extremly low drop rates. (= Roughly what you said in your video)
Even when I was farming instances like crazy and doing 2 SWB every day + 3 chars doing Katalamize + all RST/Runadium/whatever, not a single APES or Serum dropped.
We can still get APES/Serums in events (lol), and if somehow anybody gets one, he still has to pray for it to not be an untradeable one. :')

I totally agree with you, but you didn't get the point of these changes in AION. Accessory and feather enchantment with serums, gear enchantable above max level, the incoming bracelet and so on are features made to create a "gap" between normal players and hardcore players. Like 10% silence godstone or +12 feather reward event, those items aren't made to be owned by everyone but just for few elite users. NCsoft decided to go in this way because after 4.0 and before 4.5 every active player managed to get endgame gear too quickly, stopping the grind process and attractiveness of the game. What you feel now is exactly what NCsoft wanted you to feel, to yearn a +20 gear and +10 accessories, forcing hardcore players to stay in front of a screen and click on all powerful or serums for several hours trying to get their wanted result, and we have many videos on YT proving it. NCsoft of course wanted to gain as much as they could by those features and they put them directly in the shop. Now you can be an "hardcore player" trying to get them from the game itself or get the help of the shop, it's up to you to choose the hard way or the expensive way. At start i thought that those moves are made by NCsoft because they thought that the game might be at the end of it's life and they wanted to milk as much as they could, but seems that the game is still moving forward with new patches and new contents and i'm quite happy that i thought wrong. Maybe you might be a bit unmotivated due to the hard grind compared to p2w users, but who is talking has full +5 accs, +16 gear +17 weaps and i never directly bought all powerful or serums from the shop, and consider that i don't play actively due to irl commitments. Anyway we talk now like that because we have the game as it is, but i want you to think about a game with everyone wearing +10 enhanced feathers, +10 accessories, +20 gear and +10 stigmas, every fight you will have will be way more longer and way more carried by RNG with all those passive +20 skills and other craps, ruining the overall gaming experience and not only against some try-"hardcore" players that you can count on one hand per server at most.
So basically you're saying that you have to p2p to be a "hardcore" player?
Not just p2p, its empty your wallet to be viable.

I find it a bit funny how you started worrying about the same stuff in the same time like I did. I WAS a huge Aion fanboy as well but the lack of serums/APES etc. is demotivating. I didn't spend more than 15 mins in game in the last week, I'm logging to do current Shugo event and logging off. Main reason is that I have huge exams coming up that will decide which collage I'm going to BUT if things will continue moving in this way I might not come back to Aion at all...
And same like you, I LOVE the new content, I'm okay with gear breaking or farming them or grinding lvl. It's the lack of reliable Serum/APES income that's just a big BS.
Always thought "yeah sure, new event will come up, we'll get more Serums on servers -> cheaper prices of them for some time" but even that is not the case anymore cause Serums are tweaked to drop with

I've played aion since day one, but I have also had breaks which lasted years. I recently came back and two things really stick out to me. The first is that it's fairly easy to obtain a pretty decent pve set while getting a pvp set is damn near impossible. The rates to obtain blood medals is really bad, and getting 2 star takes a ridiculous amount of glory points. The 2nd is that if you do not pay good money for Luna coins, it's almost impossible to get enough mats to upgrade your plume, accessories, and whatever else needed to better the gear you obtained. Back when it was actually pay to play, you could grind everything you needed. So my point is they definitely give you pve gear fairly easy. Everything else is just out of reach if you didn't cash in on events.

I've been playing for some time in the past and now I really wanted to get back to Aion as I remembered the colourful graphics, beautiful armors beautiful cities, pets, flying all this things let me feel about it as it's fairy tale. And I was even about to buy pc as my laptop doesn't support any games. But now when I have watched this video about how the game is getting more and more P2W I'm no longer sure if I want to play it. Such a shame.
I agreed on every word you said despite that im new player, in aion should be added instances where we get ""butter and bread"", and of course PVE, thats my point.

People from NCSoft really need to put attention to this video... You speak for all of us who love and played this game all this years... I know your feel, I had about 5 characters to do Rentus HardMode/Runadium/Rune-shield Tower/Katalamize to farm enchantment stones, not anymore wasting 3~4 hour (filling the groups/doing the instance) to get 2 or 3 enchantment stones,
I see a lot of ppl complaining ("Aion is Dead / All are leaving ) what i see :still a lot of players - especially the guys who moan in lfg about drop rates , and threaten that they leave , and im tired to see them everyday in aion , guys why u really dont leave ,and if u leave , why u return- please ,dont come back .

I totally agree with all. Every day I want to play less and less, I believe other people feel the same. Its just not fun anymore, feels like we are taken for stupid people who will put up with all Aion does in the game. I think even more people will leave than they already have. Maybe they want people to quit the game, they've cashed in a ton of money in the cash shop now they don't care they just seek for more forcible ways to send us to the cash shop. This is exactly what happens when games go the free to play Cash shop route.

Few good points but imo you judge waaaay too fast. 5.0 was just an initial patch to introduce the content of 5.x . 5.1 and 5.3 have more content to make things more rewarding with instance updates etc, even pangea. Manastones etc will be more common and atm the idea was to bring easy pve and items to get new ench stones available for all as it is pretty common item. Manastones not really needed atm since the real gear comes later. 4.0 was really similar to this patch. The main content comes a bit later. +20 is not really considered as end game content. It's meant for only few ppl to have - mostly p2w. Normal hc players won't have these as when they get 1-2 items to +20, new items will come with new patch. As an old player u should know this. I agree with the supplements though, we really need them. GF has also said they aknowledge the growing need of serums etc. So they promised to look into it. Xmas events will show us if they actually did something towards it.

fuck sakes at last you said what was needed to be said!!! 100℅ agreed with all that you said, gf been greed as fuck just because they know have kids with loots of cash from mom and dad's to spend in the shop. that completely ignore that majority of the players are not inclined noir have possibilities to buy shop items.

I play since the kr serv is up, I agree on some points, but this is not a problem for every player, there are people that want to get the most powerful gears, people that just want to have "good" gears in pve / pvp, or both, and there are people that just want to play the game like, trying to complete every quest, craft, and many other things that are really hard to compete at 100%. I have some friends that didn't even play any recent dungeon yet, just because they don't want to play them yet etc.
btw gameforge seems to be too greedy. they try to you depend on cash shop while in NCSOFT its more like a convenience.
With all the new stuff that will come and did came with 4.8+ I am afraid I wil be more and more behind with my gear. Since I'm rather casual geared and all alone on my server it will be hard for me to go the new instances and finally finishing my gear. I can't enchant my feather since I don't have enough Kinah for upgrade serums (I don't even have enough Kinah to buy a gold pack from broker T_T) Leveling is rather frustrating to me, but maybe only because I'm not used to grind like shit (Lvl 68 atm)
And yes, I really wish upgrade serums would drop ingame or make them craftable, because the current way to get them is pretty stupid. It won't attract new players.
Depressing is the right word for this. I took a break from aion, even tho I know the game is becoming more and more p2w, Im still coming back just to see what it offers. I end up going to NotAion for a lil bit of pvp, which I love, and FREE entertainment. And after that I quit again for a while, I feel like my life regarding aion is gonna be like this for a few more years, till I just quit without even noticing. What can I say... this doesnt seem to have a good ending for me. Not so sad, by the end of the day.. is just a game.
I love the game BEFORE same like you I was comparing it to other games too. It was very challenging before and like other MMOs games dies if population is very low
i am just running around doing quests in lower regions no a days to have fun the new region gets pretty boring after you hit lvl 70 plus theres no incentive to carry on
with gear breaking and all that yeah
doing solo DC or DP seems more fun then doing those cheap adma and theo copy
and no one on NA does library not on my server unless ya wanna be done with the campaign quests

Hopefully they make a Aion 2. I would greatly appreciate it especially with Tera or Bless graphics with advance character creation and unique races and classes.

i've been in Aion from september 2009 and best aion period was 2009-2010 and maybe 2011...aion 1.5 - 2.5
i lost intrest after 5.0 when reaching lvl69, and i was a playing since the beta..., my leagion mates kept me going that far. the game is so torturing i could not
take it anymore
i agree with Sywo, they have to add in game an hard way to get these consumables! Hero test its a perfect way they have to think about! this is a plus for gameforge if they know how to improve this. pls stop talking about eye of tiamaranta... if u want to have pvp go in the opposing faction Land and u Will find a lots of ppl grinding and exping
Liked your vid, and I agree. I stopped playing Aion recently because its just too pay 2 win, and that's just not fun. I must've spent $1000 in their cash shop buying the best stuff, or pretty much converted dollars to kina to buy a lot of the best stuff lol

I really doubt they have the player's interests at heart anymore. There's no way this can continue to be a viable strategy. I know personally I was pushed away from the game due to being made to feel as if I wanted to progress at a reasonable pace, or buy anything in general with the inflation on kina, I had to spend $$$.
Aion was only good until 3.0 :P
You forgot to mention some of the "elite pvpers" who go around the newest maps killing new players who just made it to 66 and have 0 pvp gear.
Its not just the company who is to blame but also the shitty playerbase who make it impossible for someone NEW to the game to have any fun with it by killing them over and over until they quit for good.
Games are suppossed to be for enjoyment but the way Aion is now only these griefers can enjoy it thus discouraging new players from sticking to the game.
There's no incentive to play this game anymore and not many people want to go through months of farming PVP gear to finally have a slight chance of fighting back.
So what happens to the population? They go and try out another game that can be enjoyed from start to finish without having to deal with assholes that wont let you farm or finish any quest.

it is good that you release videos like that but i think it will be more pleasant to watch if these videos weren't about your talking only. For example , leveling guide. Not only saying leveling in BT from 53 to 65, but show it in your videos like background so people can actually see it.
Yeah, I have to agree... because you have to sell your soul to get what you need to get really good.. I just can't put every moment in aion to grind for kinah to buy those items. We can't buy them in NA.

idk why you don't really want to say it during all the video , idk why don't you want to say that Aion has been Pay To Winnn for the past 2 years. And now it's getting more intense. don't keep going around the point it makes me really disappointed, why can't you say it. btw that's the main reason I've left Aion and quitted for good... it's sad that I've always said its pay to win for the past 2 years but people pointed at me saying I should stop complaining about it , now it's definitely unbearable when Sywo speaks about Aion like that.
I realy love ur videos, they detailed and helpful. I agree with u playing few hours a day and grinding stuff farm doing instanced whic u at the end of the day only get usless xp is realy anoying and depressing. U totaly get more kinah or drops by farming goup mobs 1h and rely on luck, then doing library or arkah 1h for example. Please continiue ur work, great job :))
for me when we lost tiamaranta, sarpan, north and south katalam the game started going downward and lost my interest...aion was my first mmo and really liked it
i was big fun of this game.i was playing from 2.5 and i loved the same things like u craft.pvp.gtind.hard core instances ect but in every patch they start t mae usless every single of them first the craft then the grind the the instances and to get to the top pvp player u need t pass from all those things.For what i can see the game goes to his end.from a daily player that spends 4 hours and more on this game now i log in for once in a week for about 30 minutes and then loging off.
I never see any problems in game. I have enough cash from auction for buying GP on 2 accounts, and having 1-1.5kkk per month. It is enough for most consumables (i cant buy manastones on 50-100kk, but weaker and more cheaper not too bad). And i never ever use cashshop (only for taking bonuses for GP)... About breaking items - we can remember LineAge2. It was really good game at the beginning, and breaking and dropping weapon not harm it. Middle players can live not bad in this game. Bad players - you really have opinion, that good game must have difficulty lvl for bad players?
