It is a cutthroat strategy game in the most aesthetically pleasing presentation similar to Arboretum.

Haven't played it but heard it's a mean one!

I like Calico and Cascadia, Calicos tightness means I will not iterduce it to certain people

I get that. Tbf to both, I don't think I'd introduce either to people since they are so solitaire. Cascadia is one of my favourite games, but I'd rather play something that is impacted by other players being there!

Yes the cat theme keeps me away but yeah dogs for the win

Tbf the cat theme is a surprisingly small part of it considering, but instant 10 if dog based

I absolutely love calico and it’s so crunchy. Beats out a lot of tile placement games for me including cascadia. I totally hate the fiddlieness of the tiles coming out tue same and the chip below them in cascadia sucks. In calico this never happens. And in cascadia when you have to refill the market it just feels ugh . Just my opinion I’d rather play this the desicions feels crunchier. I was wondering when you would play this especially with all the praise you give cascadia. Ecosystem gives similar feels

Fair points. I think for me Calico is sometimes too limiting in a way that strips out player choice and can lead to a boring final few turns, whereas the freedom Cascadia provides allows for more player agency. But you're right that there is more crunch here!

      @@BoardOfItReviews I get what
Your saying the part in cascadia that makes me not want to play it is when all the chips come out the same and your supposed to redraw. What is this weird fixer rule then it’s like where should I put the newly pulled chips. That’s just off putting. Yes in calico the last 3 tiles might really mean something to you or your just placing them out for placement sake

@@bestatstartrek2179 I'm not sure I entirely follow! I don't find it weird, it's just a way to make sure there is choice in the market, same as how a player can decide when there is 3 of the same to wipe it. The tokens just go back in the bag after the new ones are drawn? Fair enough it's quite fiddly, although I enjoy it as a rule as I do think the market in Calico is too restrictive (personal opinion though). I also wonder if Calico vs. Cascadia is like Lancashire vs. Birmingham, where 90% of the time whichever was played first feels like the better game.

@@BoardOfItReviews what you say may be true about which one is played first but I’m also swayed by the colors of calico vs nature art. I think I enjoy the restrictiveness more. 2 great points of view on the game but yes the whole put it all back in the bag and redraw mechanic leaves it less enjoyable for me having to redo the market. In a side note I found caldera park to be a more enjoyable puzzle than cascadia. The last time I played caldera park I remember saying this game is really fun. I’d play that over cascadia also but just personal opinion. If you haven’t played that it deserves to be compared as well
