I just did my 2021 RST and this was so easy. I did my exhaust tips also with the Plasti dip and it looks so mean. Over 1k miles with black Plasti dip USB looking exhaust tips and no bubbling, looks perfect. So glad I found this video..take your time when you do it 1st 3 coats do very light ( 2 to 3 pass overs with the spray ) and wait 20 min between each. Your outcome will be flawless
Seriously if your on the fence about doing it just go for it, it's impossible to fuck up, if you do just wait an HR and peel it off and start again. TAKE YOUR TIME BETWEEN COATS it will be excellent

Try it with the red Z, I think it would look great and ties in with the tow hooks as well as the taillights. You can always go over it again if you still think it’s an eye sore

Red Z... you have red tow hooks after all. Also, you could probably order the Trail Boss decal blacked out. 🤷♀️

Looks really good. Picking up my trail boss ( Northsky Blue ) this week, can't wait. I'm thinking of taking off the trail boss decal also for a clean look.

Wife pulled the trail boss stickers off 2 days after I brought it home. Like it much more than the ones around with them on still.
You should peal the plasti dip off the z in z71 and make it match the tow hooks
If you're gonna plastidip, MAJOR TIP: Before you spray each coat leave the can in a bowl/bucket of hor water.. Itll go on even and smoothly and changes the finished product by alot. Your first spray leave it in for 20 or so. If done right plastidip will protect whatever you're spraying and last a long time. Sprayed my rims 6 years ago and they're still looking great.. Need to be repainted to cover some fading but other than that no peeling. Its crazy how much companies charge for powder coats and painting rims and a can of this done right can save so much money. Happy painting 😎
I did my exhaust tip on my previous tundra with black plastidip. Looked great, and never had a problem. Sold the truck after 3 years still with the plastidip.

Powder coat your exhaust tips. Do the red tow hooks in the same black powder coat. Also I think to make the murder complete you gotta get some black tail light covers or tint them with vinyl.
It will look cleaner without the trail boss stickers.

Do you have to cut the plastic dip around the emblem or does it just peel off leaving it on the emblem
I did my bowtie black center with the chrome outer in red. Taped it off and exacto knifed to trim. Looks really good with the red tow hooks on my 2024 2500hd ZR2
Now all you have to do is take off that Trail Boss sticker
Did that to mine and now I’m trading it in for a newer trail boss and the dealer was confused 😂

I totally agree that the chrome delete looks amazing. I did a pretty big chrome delete on my truck, and it looks super clean. So good judgment there on your part. If it were me, I would take off the plastic dip to display the red on the "Z" for both the bigger and smaller "Z71" logo. I think it would match perfectly with the tow hooks and complete the "theme" for the truck. Keep your "TRAIL BOSS" theme, minus all the chrome. Just an option. Many blessings brother.
I have the 2020 Midnight Edition LT Trailboss and the z71 badge along with the bowtie in front are the only chrome pieces so I was looking online for a blacked out version of these pieces but thanks to your video, I think I will go this route! I appreciate the post!!!

I Plasti Dipped my emblems on my Silverado over 5 years ago and still looking great. Like your Trail Boss decal always wanted to get rid of the Z71 on mine, but never went through with it. Chevey needs to leave the decals back in the 80's.
That’s why I bought the gloss blk out emblems. If imma pay that much for a truck it’s gotta be perfect 👌

I've got a 2020 LT Trail Boss in gray and I kind of like the chrome accents. Your truck looks sweet totally blacked out though but I think I'd let the red Z on the Z71 badges remain to tie in with the tow hooks. I'm not a huge fan of the Trail Boss sticker and I think losing it would make sense for you. Love the videos bro!
Rustoleum lens tint works really well for your tail lights. I used it on my 13 Silverado before upgrading them.

I picked up the midnight edition about a month ago and the z71 badge and front bowtie are the only parts I'm not huge on either. How does the plasti dip hold up to regular use like car washes and such once it has had time to cure? Is it really durable? Great videos btw...you are my go-to resource on 2020 trail boss modification ideas!
I think a matte black trail boss sticker replacement would be sick. Might try cutting one out on my cutting machine

I put up a video of my 2021 Trailboss 6.2 Midnight Edition where I removed the sticker, you can check out the look to see if you like it. Chevy went 75% with the Midnight Edition by blacking out badges but for some reason they feel the need to keep something chrome. If you pay 2k extra for Midnight... consumers do not want chrome anywhere! I'm going to do the plastidip on the z71s and bowtie like you, it looks great! Thanks
I've gotta say, first new subscriber...but I like how you've blacked out your TrailBoss. I only wish I was physically able to do that to my High Country. It' be cool if GM had a blacked out version of the High Country. There is allot more chrome accent on the High Country. But, one day I'll have it blacked out. You've given me lots of ideas on what to do to my truck.
I would like to expose the Red "Z" on mine (2021). Would yuo use an exacto knife to cut around the Z ??

Hey brother, I have a 2019 trail boss. On the my exhaust tips i took them off and used a high temp krylon spray paint, looks great and it went through a winter and other elements and it’s holding strong. I recommend using several coats.
I ordered the OEM black tips from the special edition. So there is that option as well. I am hoping to delete the chrome Z71 badges on my RST soon.
Blacked out emblems are the best look.
Dude that looks great! My 2019 TB Custom is northsky blue and the matte black accents look awesome! I added matte black inserts in my tailgate to accent "Chevrolet". I am looking into having my chrome exhaust tips powder coated matte black as well. It looks really good as I have seen it on another truck. I am going to Linex the rocker panels along the entire lower body line front to back with northsky blue metallic mixed into the linex. Your garage inspires me. LOL! Great stuff!!

Been thinking about doing this for a while. Really been on the fence about it cause I was afraid it would look cheap and messy and not be durable enough. Probably just fell over that fence now. I think this is going to happen to my truck next weekend.

Great job, great look! About the exhaust tips, have them powder coated with ceramic powder coating heat resistant. They don't get that hot any ways.

Not gonna lie I would love to do this to my trail boss I just got. Would also love to do this to my wife’s traverse as that has the black wheels and bow ties. I’m just nervous about messing up the paint on a brand new truck and a car that’s only a year old lol

A few times I done Plasti Dip I put the can In hot water sprays out a lot better goes on really smooth don’t get that bumpy finish

i took the 4x4 sticker on my 2016 blackout edition and it looks better. after watching this video with the dip i think i am going to do the 2 bow ties. but debating on taking off the silverado badges all together.

I finally get my trailboss 2021 in Australia in 2 weeks but they have told me the front and back parking sensors will not be installed until 2023! Any suggestions - maybe get aftermarket alternative or put up with no sensors for 8-9 months?! Massive vehicle in city to last that long

pretty sure you can get the Trail Boss stickers in a Dark Grey
I don't think the issue with your tv's sound is due to some conspiracy by Samsung but rather the design of flat screens in general. The speakers have to on the backside and with that they likely depend upon being mounted directly on a wall to bounce the sound off and out. It being in a corner likely diffuses the sound.
Liked it all better the way it came from Factory. But to each there own.

I took the route of wrapping half my northsky blue trail boss with a design the covers the whole tailgate and up to the rear doors. So alot of my badges and trail boss sticker got removed.

GMC sells the exhaust tips in black. it's the ones they use for the carbon pros

You can 100% use Plasti Dip on your exhaust tips I did my Silverado tips 2 years ago still looks awesome I used the plasti gloss over the black for that added shine
