By the way, that sled has a normally open ignition system. You do not need to jump the wires that lead to the ignition switch. Doing so will guarantee that you have no spark.
Nice sled. If the hood is original, it’s a 1979. The areas the hood behind the windshield was painted flat black on the 1978. The 78 also used a Mikuni slide valve carburetor whereas the 79 had a Mikuni butterfly type carb as yours does.
Why don't y'all compoisit dip the wood for the seat. Witch is plastic coated wood.& then use furniture bolt inserts into were your mounting brackets go on that snowmobile. I think all of the snowmobiles need those seats redone that way. Cause their not going to rot out anymore after doing that. It should be use on pontoon boats.& other boat that wood on them outside.& seats on deck for the seat cushions on them to.
There is one of these advertised locally that was converted to run on wheels, (reverse trike). Whats it worth?
