Good video Terry. I follow you because for the most part you are fair and objective when talking 'non Man U' stuff. I am a Chelsea fan. I have been supportive of Clearlake from the start because they have been brave enough construct a long term plan to bring SUSTAINED success, while remaining commercially viable and keeping within FFP. I am aware this will take patience. Those that criticise the board are too short sighted to look a few windows ahead. I'll admit that the first summer window under Clearlake, when Todd Boehly was acting sporting director, some big mistakes were made regarding overpaying for transfers, and offering too high wages. But since the Lawrence Stewart, Paul Winstanly and Joe Shilds were appointed 18 months ago, I think they have made some extremely savvy signings, mainly for the medium, and long term (Kendry Piaz, Andre Santos, Estaevao Willian and others), but also short term bargains like Nico Jackson, Christo Nkunku, Malo Gusto, and Noni Madueke. Marc Cucurella and Mchael Mudryk were initially ridiculed, but Cucu is now showing himself the player we hoped he would be. And not just at the Euros. Cucu has been playing really well in the last third of the EP (I'm assuming Gary Neville chose to ignore this when he made his snide remarks about how Cucu would be the reason Spain wouldn't do well......Haha...enjoy the humble paella Gary), especially since Poch had him inverting into midfield. And they are doing this while drastically reducing the wage bill, and moving to a 'fair' wage structure that has strong incentives to encourage players to fight for their spot in the side, and reward the team as a whole for successful results, and (and this is important) penalise them with salary cuts if team objectives (like failing to qualify for Europe) are not achieved.
Why am I saying this? Because Terry, your club looks like it is hoping to follow this same path under INEOS. Stop signing washed up Galacticos for over inflated fees on wages that make them impossible to sell on if they don't work out, invest in youth, and have proper Sporting Directors devise an overall style of play strategy, run the scouting, with minimal input from the head coach, who's main job is to get the best out of the players he has. I have several United fan mates, and I urge them to brace themselves for a couple of years of pain, but if done right, its got to be the way forward. Despite my own club having a a very poor start to the season, hindered by a list of injuries almost double of the next worst injury prone team (Man U), we still finished strong, only 5 points adrift of an ECL sp[ot, and since the New Year, only Arsenal and City secured more points than us. Even without signing anyone, it'll be like we've just signed Romeo Lavia, Reece James, Ben Chillwell, Levi Collwill, Christo Nkunku, and Wesley Fofano, because they were all injured for 90% of last season.
And finally, the KDH signing makes alot of sense. He does offer something our already deep pool of midfielders don't have, which is that he is left footed and already understand how the coach wants him to play.. He also has goals in him, which is something none of our midfielders have had (Kante, Kovacic, RLC, Jorghino etc) since Frank Lampard moved on. Enzo, Caicedo and Gallagher of the current crop scored only a handful of goals between them last season, so if KDH can chip in with 10-15 goals that could make a huge difference. As much as I love Connor Gallagher as a person, true Blue, and player,, I think KDH will be a better option for the style that Maresca wants to play, and so I'm buzzin about the new season. Realistically, I hope for top 4 next season, with a title challenge in 2025/26 when Estavao Willian and Kendry Piaz arrive. COYB

Good player is KDH. I'm not going to gaslight you into saying he's Odegaard or Palmer levels like a lot of Chester fans are saying.
